I think it's great that there is a younger, female MP. At the risk of sounding like a member of the old boys club, what the hell? Strange choice by SNP, what experience can they possibly have to offer parliament?

haha Kay Burley blanked by Cameron. get in.

Lol

This past half hour has been a slaughter by the SNP.

I know it was expected, but the continuous nature of it has been slightly humorous.

The Guardian unreachable for anyone else? Someone should check the entire newsroom staff haven't topped themselves.

The SNP could field a dog in Scotland constituencies and still win.
My main concern for this election was the SNP. I'll be very pleased if we don't have to have them trying to have influence on issues that'll effect England.
The SNP have no interest in influencing issues that only affect England (or Wales or N Ireland). They do though, want a fairer system at Westminster and better policies and representation for the whole of the UK.

To be fair, I doubt they expected her to actually win this seat when they selected her. Just get some experience from the campaign.

University experience? Like, I can't think of much better ways of attracting the student vote than fielding a literal student.

There's nothing they could have done. It's because they didn't back independence. But how could they have?

I think they could have reduced the damage by running a seperate No campaign instead of joining with the Tories. Standing side by side and celebrating alongside the Tories was a serious mistake.

It's nationalism.

Let's not pretend we weren't expecting a landslide in Scotland.

Even the SNP wasn't expecting this big a landslide, even privately.

"Nationalism" is too simplistic by far. The SNP have solidly governed in the Scottish Parliament over the past few years. The Labour party in Scotland handled the "No"/"Better Together" campaign horribly. The austerity policies from the current government are extremely unpopular in Scotland, and Scottish Labour's shown none backbone on that issue.

You can't just say "Rarrr nationalism".

Wouldn't the money have had to come from their own pocket? That'd be a big problem for Labour.

So currently I want the Conservatives to get a majority, on the grounds that a coalition with DUP and UKIP would be disastrous, but I also don't want them to get a majority, on the grounds that they're the Conservative party.

I shall console myself by continuing to laugh at the Lib Dems.

You guys hear Salmond just there? He said he's got a Scottish lion and it's ROARING. I think it has the UK on its radar. This guy and his threats, he's a dangerous man.

Give it a few hours and the politicians will start being honest. The ones getting dumped out or who know they're going to the opposition backbenches.

"You've been wiped out in Scotland, haven't you?"
"Yes Andrew, we're fucked."
