But the point is that credibility can be re-earned. People believed Dolph could beat Miz and win the title. It's why they reacted. It's happened for multiple guys before. So the decision to try and build credibility with Dolph now is not illogical or impossible.

After the meltdown of Nakamura not squashing Ziggler and now he beating AJ will everyone understand that in the kayfabe Dolph is supposed to be strong?

And I'm fine with that. Even after the trades the SD roster isn't so big, they can't use a wrestler that (part of) the crowd still care about as a jobber

People don't like Dolph. I get that, and I agree, but too often dislike is mixed up with what's logical storytelling and what isn't.

The entire point of kayfabe is to make every fight look like its competitive. Who cares if AJ Styles lost once. He's a babyface; they do that.

The reason people believe Ziggy was going to beat Miz was that most knew he was going to get fired. And when he did loes the belt again no one cared. People have seen Ziggy tired to get credibility for years now and it hasn't worked.

That's not true. The other matches he had with Miz where his career wasn't on the line still had a lot of heat. They still believed he could win those.

He only had what two or 3 matches with Miz in that feud and you know what, after he lost the belt people didn't give a fuck about him. You can't give someone credibility who has been a loser for years and expect the people to care about him cause they ain't idots.

In kayfabe, Ziggler has never been booked as a physical threat in his entire career. Every title he's ever won has been opportunistic or a 'giving it all he's got' performance.

Dolph beating AJ in such a straightforward way just smells of a lack of ideas. It's the definition of contrarian booking, to me.

'Oh, people won't be expecting it, so let's do it'

...except the established logic dictates AJ losing so easily to a midcarder is dumb.

As far as re-establishing credibility goes, one of the best ways to do that is to have an interesting character and mic skills, like the Miz. It's a shame Dolph has never had that talent.

Drew Gulag has beat Mustafa Ali so many times now in this feud that I'm beginning to think this whole "no fly zone" angle is the WWE shitting on people criticizing the slow wrestling style of 205 live. Like in any logical universe, Mustafa would win this feud (and he still might), but they are booking him to be so incredibly weak. He even ambushed Drew this time and severely injured him before the match started and still lost clean.

Given that it's 205 Live, this feud is probably going another two months, so Ali will probably get all his wins back at some point.

That's how it works though. In MMA, Mark Hunt was a loser for years. UFC wanted to buy out his contract because he was basically worthless to them. Then he started beating top guys, and eventually he had a title shot (short notice, but he got it) and people thought he had a chance.

Guys beating top guys makes them seem more credible to win in the future.

How is this a debate.

The difference between MMA and WWE is that MMA is a real Sport anything​ can happen but in the WWE if Mark hunt was marginalize for what seven years I doubt people will have a a hope that he will ever become a top guy.If the audience knows that the person will always be in a certain spot no matter what they do to that audience will lose all hope and credibility that can never really be rebuild.
