So, if games that sell 1 million are considered non-games, then what does that make 4 million sellers? Non-non-games?

Awesome. Nice to see a 360 game in the top 30. PS3 games a no-show? Gundam Musou came out this week or did it really underperform?
Gundam Musou will appear on next week charts considering the date it was released was too close for the charts to take data.

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
Nobody post in this week's Media Create so that the "media" doesn't get wind of these unusually high PSP sales.

I wonder what Monster Hunter numbers would be like for the DS..

I swear this is becoming the most tired, obnoxious, overused line in Media Create threads. It's even giving "non-game" a good race for its money.

Indeed. It's readily apparent that the DS is simply incapable of giving the same experience as the PSP in this game: Monster Hunter is designed with the PSP's strengths in mind.

Stop the shit.

Well it makes you wonder, if it could those numbers on a dead system (in the words of AniHawk), then why not wonder, I mean last gen for consoles people made games mainly for the higher install base.

"non-games" used to be bad in that people actually used them seriously. This'll eventually become PSP's "non-games".

Couldn't have picked a better choice. :) :D :lol

sorry guys, i couldn't help but wonder what the sales would be like first week on the ds compared to the psp. i would imagine they'd be lower because nintendo's hoarding all the cartridges in a factory somewhere for the next pokemon game.

Ah, there you are, where's our weekly dose of charts and more graphs.
It's those Thursday evening final hardware numbers that make my blood go straight to my databases. But hey, I take requests if you've got 'em.

In fact, is the DS even a games system? It's success says otherwise.

Is the PSP even a games systems? It's success says otherwise, as people seem to enjoy it for everything but.

Actually, the PS2 version has -different- content. Not really additional. The creator of Higurashi himself said that he wants each version to have the same foundation (the 4 question arcs, and first 3 answer arcs) but a different form of conclusion so it stays "fresh" for fans who have played/read/seen previous versions.

I'm pretty sure the anime will have a different form of conclusion and it's own unique arc(s) after covering the third answer arc. The mangas have their own original content as well.

Huh... that's weird. So the second season of the anime will probably have a new ending, not one based on either the PS2 or PC games? Odd...

:sigh: I want to post in this thread, but you guys are too good. I have nothing to add with my analysis.

Am looking forward to hardware numbers though. And I think next week will be more interesting with Gundam Musou sales. MHP2 was pretty much a foregone conclusion. I like more suspense in my sales data.

I prefer the hardware ones, so I can wait till thursday evening; if I do have a request, I'll come ask.

impressive sales for monster hunter 2, I think i'd like this game alot.

It's like a more mature pokemon isn't it? Knights and dragons as pets compared to jigglepuffs and pikachus?

You can have Dragons, Killer Whales, Skunks, Sharks, Soul-stealers and Killer Bees as pets in Pokemans

Monster Hunter Portable was a waste of money, never falling into the same trap twice. I thought it was RPG like but it turns out it's action/adventure game, I guess. Shame on me for not actually gathering info about the game instead of just buying the game as an impulse, like most of my psp purchases I regret :(.

So, which will hit 1 million first? MHP2 or MHP+MHP:Best Version? Cause MHP:Best Version appears to have disappeared from the charts in the wake of MHP2.

It's about time the Wii had anything in the top 10 besides Wii Sports and Play. Hopefully Naruto will tell third-parties that Nintendo consoles aren't completely dominated by first-party titles.

Personally, I don't think that MHP2 will create much more of a new audience than MHP had, so I think it'll probably sell to an already existing audience.

But that's just speculation, we'll have to wait and see.

if it had a built in ****ing hard drive and an non-obtuse PC interface program, maybe! Why Sony such obvious things are so hard for you these days, never will I understand!

By selling 45000 units? It'll take much more than that. Wait for 2nd week sales.

Don't have the link, but it was something to do with E3 2006 setting up/unpacking boxes... not sure what to search for.

Even so, isn't Naruto the first third-party game to reach the top 10? Or did DBZ Budokai make it?

If the DS can have FF:CC and DQ9, I don't see why can't people speculate a Monster Hunter for the DS.

Those are completely original DS entries in series. The two Monster Hunters for PSP are versions of PS2 games. Were a completely different Monster Hunter made for DS, would it be more successful due to the greater userbase? Or would it suffer from the complete overhaul, and no longer being the big fish of the small pond? *shrug*

It's like the eastern equivalent of GTA: _ City Stories. A DS GTA might do okay, but it would be something completely different.

So Monster Hunter Portable 2nd is still the best first week selling third party game on a next gen handheld and if we exclude crappy pokemon/card game rip-offs, it's the best first week selling third party game ever on a handheld.

That's very impressive.

But DQ9 is supposed to be playable on the DS, why can't a Monster Hunter fit? Hell, why can't they make a Monster Hunter for the DS and add a port of Monster Party on there? Why can't they exclusively make a DVD drive that fits into your DS so it can play Monster Hunter, along with ports of Monster Party and Splatterhouse added on? Why can't they create Monster Hunter as a Download Station title that you have to rip to a DVD that can be played on your DVD add on drive for the DS, comes with ports of Monster Party, Splatterhouse, and Mickey Mouscapades, and comes with an Mp3 rip of the Neil Young anti-war album? Figure this out for me Mr. Wizard.

Capcom can make just about any of their major franchises fit in some form or another on the DS if they were inclined to do so. Devil May Cry might be an exception, but Capcom could make it work if they really, really wanted to.

My point is such speculation is completely warranted, and as supported by your first paragraph there are things to talk about, because there are many uncertainties of it's success and the game would be different on the DS (Graphically it would suffer but will almost certainly benefits from the net play).

People are just wondering what a Monster Hunter on the DS would do, and I don't see anything wrong with it. *shrug*
