First week DQ Swords prediction guys?

I'll say 260k.

Wii = 90k.

That seems low for DQ Swords (which apparently got 200k the first day)

As for Wii my prediction is whatever they shipped. But that is my prediction for every week.

Yeah, it might be, but Sinobi's first day sales are very different compared to m-create and how titles does in the weekend.

It'll might do over 300k though.

I predict Nintendo held of some thousands Wii's for this release.

Don't know if you missed it, but DQ reportedly did 200K the first day.

Id guess 350k DQS and 85k Wii (if they increased shipments)
Based on DS hardware bumps for big games, I'm not so sure about those predictions. Two things.

A) When there's a planned DS hardware bump, it's usually pretty significant.
New Super Mario Bros.: 160K->285K (+78%)
Final Fantasy III: 163K->229K (+40%)
Pokémon D/P: 140K->274K (+96%)

So if there is an increase, I think 85-90K is a pretty tame guess, as that would be an increase of 20% or less.

B) Usually a few weeks before those big planned DS bumps, there's a noticeable dip in supply where they held back. Adding in two weeks prior to the three examples shown above...
New Super Mario Bros: 161K->90K->160K->285K
Final Fantasy III: 197K->74K->163K->228K
Pokémon D/P: 114K->135K->140K->274K (It doesn't seem so clear in this case... maybe more of a skimming for several weeks)

There's been no noticeable dip in Wii supply lately that would indicate them holding back stock. In fact, staying above 60K for four weeks then having two weeks above 70K is an increase from the previous norm. So if there's a bump at all, they're not handling it like most DS bumps.

JJS makes an awesome point, and I agree. Unless shipments have jumped to 100k and they've been holding back 30k for the past three weeks...

But still. I'm not certain how many DQS's were shipped, either. I'm thinking a guess a little south of 300k would be fair. (285k?)

You don't think they filled the retailer pre-orders?

As it should. The userbase is quite enormous by this point. I think we can expect to see fantastic first week sales from this point on.

Stormbringer- anything about whether Swords almost sold out, or was it widely available?

We know launch shipment was 350k, so it was close to a statistical sellout (though I don't know how product distribution works in Japan).

He obviously mentions the numerous shortages, but he then mentions something about the summer holidays market rush (that I'm unfortunately not able to fully understand).

Wow, great Wii numbers. PS3 keeps bumping up a tad- anticipation for Hot Shots Golf perhaps?

I was a bit low with my predictions.

Anyway, great performance by DQ Swords. Great to see the Wii over 100k. And Zelda definitely has great legs!

Hmmm. I prefer MC but this is always a good indication. I can't wait until tomorrow night to get the MC numbers. Still, the fact that Wii is slightly approaching weekly DS sales, if even for a moment, is quite an achievement.

Because these numbers are Famitsu, the official threads are Media Create.

Even following Famitsu numbers, PS3 hasnt reached 1 million...so why did Famitsu announce 1 mio sold PS3? :-/

@topic: Awsome sales for Nintendo.

Nintendos plan works perfectly, first they expand to new users with excelent titles like Brain training, Nintendogs and loads of other stuff, then they slowly turn them into core gamers with new and back to basic versions of Mario and Zelda (and loads of other stuff). Zelda could go on to sell well over 2 million.

DQ:S is not sold out as of today in my town. But there are only a few copies left on shelves. I will do an actual count tomorrow.

Anything else I should look for this week?
