DS is already affected from WII and PS3 high sales. Its sales are a little low for the period (by DS standards) even with the presence of DSi LL.
Ah ok, i see. Can there be a possibility that the Wii hardware sales is affected by the PS3 hardware sales next week because of FFXIII? I am sure that the Wii hardware sales will be high next though, but maybe there is a chance that people decided to buy a PS3 because of FFXIII instead of buying a Wii? But i have no idea. We will know for sure next week when the hardware numbers come :)

Hehe, i think that it looks cool to be at big game launches :) If i lived in Japan, then i would probably check out how long the lines were etc. at big game launches, or with new gaming hardware launches :)

I see that i miss-spelled his nick by the way, sorry. I ment sp0rsk, not sp0rks :) I have edited my earlier post and fixed this mistake now.

Apparently the series will now release 2 games a year.

http://tales.namco.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82005

So I expect not much to change except for less escorts. My guess:

2010 - New HD Tales from Team Symphonia (PS3 exclusive or for both consoles, don't know) then a DS Tales from the Hearts team.

2011 - New Wii Tales from Team Destiny then a PSP game from Alfa Systems I guess (Radiant Mythology 3?) unless they ended up making Tales of Versus 2.

Edit: After that I think they'll move on to next gen unless they decide to make another Team Symphonia game. Team Destiny should be moving to next gen after their next game.

Namco has always released one Tales game (at least) per year on psp since 2005. Next year won't be the exception

I'm expecting TotW:RM3 in mid/late 2010.

And Matrix Software did Versus.

I'm expecting TotW3 in mid year and the next HD one late year. And yeah, I know Matrix did Versus. Worded it a bit weird.

I think the Dragon Quest X saga will run and run unless Square Enix come out early in the year post-DQVIr and present a convincing strategy.

I know when they confirmed DQX for the Wii before DQIX had released that some people hoped that it meant the game was further along in development but to me it seemed more likely that the announcement was more a statement of intent, similar to how they announced Crisis Core ages before they showed anything from the game and 3 years before it actually came out, especially given that unlike Final Fantasy the main DQ games are always headed up by the same design team. I wouldn't be suprised if at that point the game was barely a design document.

Even with the success of DQIX and suggestions that they might hit the DS again, until we hear anyhting definite I wouldn't take the silence to indicate anything other than the game being too early to show yet.

Look at it this way before you make a stupid assumption like that again. Trying to provide impressions during a period like this is actually not free and can be a time consuming hassle. I personally don't care that Bebpo was offended at my duckroll-style sarcastic-comment-followed-by-emoticon post earlier and can understand he'd be a little sensitive about it (FF seems to make him fairly passionate, so whatever).

But then he went as far as to insult me based on observations I've been making that by no means are representative of everything going on in the country. Apparently questioning either the number of FFXIII/bundles out there or questioning their ability to sell offends some people. But to call it smug and annoying... if that's going to be the case in spite of the actual work involved in trying to do this, then I'm going to take a Segata stance and give this the middle finger. I can still game shop, but I won't post about it if since comes down to insulting and name calling.

Sorry guys, but I'm done doing this. Segata had a good point a few months back. There are plenty of others who can contribute.

You can't really call someone out on something that isn't true though...

Everyone has a bias but if you are annoyed by the "fanboyism" of cvxfreak, you must have a nervous breakdown half the time you read a random post on gaf.

How does that make sense in any way?

Its your right to do what you want, but I don't think you should quit based on what a few posters who quite frankly don't come in these threads all that often think. I think the majority of us here greatly value your contributions.

It doesn't.
And it's not true, since cvx should consider the simple fact that people "attacking him" are actually a small number of more or less fanboysh and thus annoyed posters, far outweighted by others who deeply appreciate his contributions here.

Keep it up CVX, but only if you feel like it of course :)

^^^^^^
edit: badly beaten (and for once I'm glad it happened! :D )

cvx's contributions are great and are usually pretty accurate (smug or not). Keep it up, don't let a few posters get you down when most people treat the contributions as valuable.

Why did Segata leave these threads though? I remember him posting quite a bit in these threads before I started posting here but now that cvx brought it up, I noticed he really was gone..

Well, this is certainly disappointing. I would think cvxfreak has a thicker skin than this given how tough it is to keep posting on MC threads.

I appreciate you a lot as a contributor but you are being childish and even a bit arrogant, it's been years since people read your opinions and comment about them, you are one of if not the most popular poster in the media-create thread and appreciation and love towards your persona has been expressed thousands times from varied users in many sales thread. People care about you, mods, normals and juniors alike.

If a rather irrelevant opinion from one random guy makes you react like this in spite of countless expressions of support and love, maybe you are right and you should leave.

and I don't mean to be rude, sorry if it comes off like that.

Definitely understand the feeling, cvx. A lack of appreciation I'm fine with. Outright rudeness, well, I can certainly find better ways to spend my precious time when I'm out and about if people are going to be dicks about it.

You guys call that taking the ball and going home, or not having thick skin, whatever. I call it "showing people their actions have consequences". We aren't fucking GAF news feed robots.

I completely understand. My only argument is that in this case I don't think any regulars, i.e people who actually post in these threads even when Final Fantasy or Mario games aren't released, are guilty of anything here. I think it would be a shame for cvx to be ran off by posters who won't be back until FF13 Versus.

But because 2 guys who never enter these threads anyway post some fanboyish comment themselves, everyone is worse off? That's just...not right.

Also, I often have to remind myself that whenever I write something on gaf about whatever, there's always at least someone who will disagree with me and think I'm a dick/loser/fanboy/asshole/... You can't please everyone, and even the most neutral, sincere or levelheaded posts will incite vicious reactions (if not by a response post, then in the heads of some people). I'm on a lot of ignore lists I assume, probably for reasons I think are stupid or unjustified. Everyone should have a similar realization, so that you can put hateful comments in their perspective instead of being deeply hurt about them.

To prove my point, HK-47 or Bepbo is probably rolling his eyes while reading this post. :D

Seriously though if you let something this minor disturb you enough to quit then you have more serious problems than some random troll insulting you on an internet forum.

If you just plain don't want to give reports anymore then thats fine but don't blame it on some random poster, you get enough praise from many others to be able to ignore random insults.

If it's HD, it'll be multiplat. They already have the engine, and ToV ended up selling something like 130k in the US according to someone in the last NPD thread. Nothing to sneeze at.

They even made the next Naruto game PS3/360, I'm fairly convinced that Namco doesn't intend to make HD console exclusives anymore.

We understand you and indeed, It would piss me off to no end if I was in your spot but if it makes you reconsider, think that the MC thread and its posters and faithful lurkers are some sort of community, a world of its own and they are the reason why you take your time to bring first-hand info and those members do appreciate you, myself included.

We can't stop morons from actually posting but we can encourage you by saying, it's a 99.9% (or around that) of the MC crowd that looks forward to your opinions, even if it's only a prediction or a one sentence comment.

All I am saying is that, if that guy's opinion has more weight than all of us, then something's wrong.

You are perfectly entitled to your feelings and actions, I am just trying to bring some perspective here.

Mate, I've appreciated all the hard work you've done in these threads over the years, even to post the numbers too. It must take a lot of hard work. It's best not to focus on a very very small handful of ungrateful pillocks and understand that you are doing a great job so thoroughly and entertainingly. We all think so, surely.

Stores are paying 6500 yen to buy back used copies of FFXIII. Same stores were selling it new for 7500. Is there any wonder why people beat a game and trade it in a week later, at only a 1000 yen loss.

Please man, Bebpo seems to be just another annoying sony fanboy. Observations from japanese gaffers are very precious for the majority of us. Keep them alive...

For morons: if you want to post insult, anger and hatred, there is always PS3 forum :lol :lol :lol

Quotes from PS3 forum

Random threads

Hidden Star : It doesn't matter whether the Wii is dying in sales or not. The console is still the wosrt one out of the last two generations.

Sergeriver: The PS3 performed as expected, the Wii and the X360 performed better than expected. Eventually the PS3 will take this gen.

NPD thread

I_Luv_2_Game: I find it hard to believe that Xbox outsold the PS3.. If these numbers are true it has something to with those Xbox bannings...

Potassium: It was reported after the ban, ebay was flooded with the modded consoles. If 10-20% of the 600K banned people purchase a new 360 just to play the MW2, that would result in 60-120K purchases.

I read this thread almost exclusively for cvx's insights (along with the thoughts of a few others). It would be downright shameful if a few dumb sourpuss fanboys that are allergic to reality could change that.

Why don't you start banning people who attack frequent contributor to mcreate threads by name calling ?
You can start by banning bebpo, which will hurt him a lot since FF13 is just around the corner, and we all knew how much he like FF series (since he attack cvxfreak).

Just ignore those fanboys.

You can do whatever you want, like not posting impression or picture takings. However, I believe that :
- persevering in face of name-calling is a way to show people that you are unaffected (show them you are your own boss). You win, they lose. Stopping means you lose, they win. (at least, that is my personal philosophy). You should only stop if lots and lots of regular m-create people ask you to do it.
- Keeping things up is a good trait. Perseverance and patience is one of the few virtues that are important in real life. Doing it in the internet is a good practice, as long as you keep it moderate (stubborn and persistant, patience and slow moving, is very thinly differentiated).

OTOH, if you really stop, we may need to bring up vinnk for on-hand impression, although his city is quite small, unlike yours (tokyo, IIRC). Are you staying there (Japan) much longer ?

Speaking of porting from one console to another, is it possible for a graces port to the PSP to garner more sales or is that technically impossible?

While both of these examples are not technologically taxing, a Wii -> PSP port-down was done with Shiren 3 and Tenchu (and I guess BlazBlue now). In fact, if Namco is not satisfied by Graces numbers, a PSP port actually could do fairly well.

Well, damn me for what I've caused.

I don't have the heart to disappoint this many people. Indeed, I sure as hell didn't expect this kind of reaction. Impressions will live to fight another day.

If Namco wants to do a PSP version of Graces, then they will, regardless of hardware limitations and what not. Just like the inevitable MHP3 for PSP (and I hear MH3 is supposed to be a stunner as far as Wii games go).

But I would assume we'll see first see PSP ports of whatever PS2 Tales haven't been ported yet. Legendia and Abyss, perhaps?
