Meet the Fantastic Four

The movie hasn't shot a single frame yet, and no one has any clue as to what it's even about. How can you call it drivel?
The premise alone is enough to condemn this project. Let's take the fantastic four, Take the story of the fantastic four and throw it away, make them teenagers who fight crime with super powers and have nothing to do with science. Fuck off.

Trank denied the supposed plot synopsis.

Everyone here has the shooting script? you know the storyline? You're privy to the pre-production process?

All we know at this point is the main cast, director, and writer. What sickness must you have to look the production at this point and be hoping that it fails to even get started?
I know not to look for Oscar gold when Paul ws Anderson is directing

No fucking thanks. I'm not supporting this shit, Fox only made it to keep the rights.

And This is the sole reason why this musn't happen, and the pixar cgi FF4 disney movie features namor and BP MUST happen. Fox wants to tie FF4 in with xmen and try to emulate waht DC and marvel are doing but i cant tell if they are serious when i see their films.

Movies made at the 11th hour to keep the rights from reverting are usually trash, and at best generic inoffensive retreads.
Amazing Spider-Man 1, Ghost Rider 2, and Punisher War Zone come to mind

The benefits of Doom/Galactus as big-bads for the Avengers supersede my feelings about this movie anyway. I wont lie about that

X men 3
X men Origins
Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four 2
Daredevil
Elektra
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Those films have definitely made me sick.

It's a young cast so we know they will be friends or class rivals or neighbors and it will be a of coming-of-age university type setup leading to a science accident/event which leads to transformations.

After about 30 minutes of discovery of CG powers there will be a fight in which the FF4 lose and the earth is threatened or a SO is captured.

Then after a training montage the FF4 win and save the earth/SO because of one key detail from their school rivalry.

Doom escapes for future sequel possibilities.

In a different decade, made by different people/hacks, when FOX really didn't give a fuck. If their director and casting choices lately have been any indication, they clearly give more of a fuck now and are taking the movies more seriously. I'm not saying this will definitely be a good movie, but a history of bad films in the past shouldn't preclude the possibility of good films in the future.

WB made Batman & Robin and then Batman Begins. EON made Die Another Day and then Casino Royale. Studios can and do change.

The original FF '80s version.

I think the thing is most people want Doctor Doom, Galactus, and the skrulls in the Cinematic Universe.

I personally don't care for Ultimate Fantastic Four and have zero hope this movie will be on the level of even the Spider-Man films but I am curious to see how they do the X-Men/ Fantastic Four crossover they obviously want to build to.

I keep hearing that the 2005 movie wasn't much good, but I've yet to see it myself. All I know about the Fantastic Four (from playing the Lego Marvel game) is that one's a flamer, one specializes in getting hard, one specializes in getting longer and the woman is invisible to them.

It's something we've know for a while, but it saddens me that we'll never see uber hot Chris Evans' Human Torch again :(

Oh man if that rumor turns out to be true there would still be time to get Silver Surfer in before Avengers 3. Please be true!

It's almost the exact same thing that was going to happen with Daredevil. Fox had a reboot set with David Slade set to direct, and it was going to be based on the Frank Miller "Born Again" storyline.

Just like with FF, it was rushed in order to avoid allowing the license to revert to Marvel. Slade had to walk away from it due to scheduling conflicts, then Joe Carnahan pitched the movie to Fox, who had lost interest by then and the rights revered to Marvel.

All we can hope is that this is true and Fox will allow the rights revert to Marvel.

That way they can have Reed Richards in the New Avengers movie that's rumored to be after Avengers 3!

Yeah, we can only hope history repeats itself. I would think maybe Fox would be wary after all the casting backlash.

Is Mark Millar not in charge of Fox's cinematic universe anymore?

I'm in two minds over the cancellation news. Marvel know there characters amazingly well and create amazing movies but I really love Chronicle and was looking forward to what Trank would have brought to an established franchise.

Not to sound nit picky, but wasn't the SlashFilm story a double negative
"Fox denies that the rumors are 'not true'."

Which would mean they were confirming them right?
So the story should have said that "Fox confirms that rumors are 'not true'."
Or "Fox denies F4 rumors"?

I'm reaching here, I know it, but I'm just hoping that marvel gets the rights back and Fox will pour all their focus into expanding the X-brand instead.

Bleeding Cool suggests that if Fox really would like to stomp on the rumour, they stop approaching folk to replace the director.

Hahaha.. ice cold.

I hope against hopes that this is true and they fumble hard and it all goes back to marvel like yesterday. I don't really care for F4 that much but at the very least they would be better served in the MCU where perhaps Reed could pick up the torch when RDJ decides to bow out as the "snarky scientist" only a lil more of a family man and a lot bit more arrogant.

so that would mean Doom, Silver Surfer, Skrull and a few other connected folk (wut wut Galactus) would all come crashing back to Marvel as well right?
Finally the suits up in their ivory towers must be starting to understand that it's not worth holding onto the rights if your just gonna make a 170 million dollar pile of shit that either barely recovers it costs or completely bombs.

And did i read this thread right... Daredevil is back at marvel now??

edit: While carousing badassdigest...

HAHAHAHHHHAAAAAAHHHHWTF

DC just doesn't get it at all. It's like they are a full 20 years behind Marvel as far as being in touch with reality goes.

What premise? Every rumored synopsis has been debunked as false. All we know about the story is that it's taking cues from Ultimate Fantastic Four.

Which isn't exactly the best iteration in the first place. They should be taking their cues from Waid or Hickman's runs. We don't need an origin story, they can tell it to us in opening narration. It's not like it's all that complicated in the first place.

I wonder if Marvel has little contingency plans set up, so like they have their timeline for the movies as things stand now, but they also have a backup where another studio loses the rights so they can start jamming stuff into the MCU as quickly as possible. So like they have an Avengers 3 planned for Infinity Gauntlet but if they get FF back they can move ahead with one that hints at Galactus and leads into a Phase 3 FF movie.

Arrow kicks so much goddamn ass, it ain't even funny. Flash will follow suit, just you watch.

They could probably hint at Galactus or Doom pretty easily after an Infinity Gauntlet movie, in the extra teaser scene at the end. Just have either one of them looking at a monitor at Thanos getting punched out.

Okay, let me clarify:

When it comes to movie news and scoops on yet-to-be-released movies, he doesn't post bullshit.

Obviously, his opinions are his own and your mileage on those opinions may vary.
