I took and posted quite a bit when I was losing the majority of my weight. I think it started out as a way of documenting the loss, morphed into gathering external positive reinforcement and eventually soured into all out self-absorbed narcissism.

I knew someone on the extreme side of this years ago. They'd randomly take out their mobile and start taking a bunch of selfies, and then start showing them to everyone and be like "look how good i look ?, damn i look good!" sounding all proud of themself, very weird and noone knew how to respond. But in fairness that person was a complete nutjob, still an interesting study though.

I never took a selfie for instagram or facebook unless someone wants to see it in PMS or profile pic. I like to show pictures that have actions in them like with other people.
