Merely 20 days after launch, The Outer Worlds 2 is already on sale in PS and Xbox Storefronts (20% off)

And still no GOTY nominations

Well, as we heard multiple times from the likes of HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 S SneakersSO , Phil does not seem to… mmh… have taste.

This guy was heading Xbox Games Studios well before he was the Boss of all Xbox… this helps us to revisit their software output over the last two decades and understand it better ;).

As Steve said:

I think this is really cultural, as if you cannot get high up in the org chart unless you conform to this "meme" so to speak.

I can't think of a game that came and went like OW2.

It's a game that shoud have had SOME excitement attached to it...but crickets.

I blame Microsoft. Somehow everything under them gets underhyped and underperforms. Despite deserving to sell well (Indiana Jones, Doom Dark Ages) somehow people just arent interested.

It's had some pretty positive buzz in the OT, but I completely wrote off the sequel having finished the first game and remembering virtually nothing about it.

This game landed worse than Bloodlines 2 because nobody could even be bothered to hate play it or talk about they could have saved it by calling it Vampire the Walklines or something.

Btw here's how the outerworlds sub reddit is coping.

Oh, Reddit, yeah.

You have to make choices. It's like they want you to commit. Modern gaming is not about committing to any decisions. You cant fix the choices either. I tried save spamming but I lost track of everything and maxed out saves in like 4 hours. Why would I want to buy a game where what I do has consequences I cant fix?
