Finished my first puzzle in Puzzle places last night and took about 3 hours to complete. That game isn't graphically intensive but even with the elite battery head strap charged all the way along with the headset I only had about 28 minutes left of battery so the Quest 3 seems to eat through the battery.
For the quest 3 version they added hand tracking and it works pretty well. I played it last night in bed till 1am just leaning my back against the head board and it was comfortable. The premium audio is also pretty nice. When you put certain pieces together you get a cool audio moment that I liked. That's impressive! I played a lot of this game on the PSVR2 and I generally always split up puzzles every 50-100 pieces, so if I did the 400-piece version, around every 25% I'd save it for the next day! I did finish all the puzzles on the lower piece counts, but the really high piece counts obviously take much longer, but are still quite enjoyable! I do imagine it is the type of game better suited to the pick up and play nature of the Quest 3 over the PSVR2, which is not that slow, but the wireless freedom seems like it would enhance the game by offering the ability to play it in other rooms etc.
Yeah I don't think recliners are the move. I played a little Room vr in bed just sitting up but if you need to pick up anything off the floor you're screwed. How do you sit down and play?
I tried to play The Room VR in my rocker recliner and the arms just got in the way of manipulating levers in the game. Had to lean forward the entire time.
I don't think there is a chair anywhere in the house without arms.
Might have to visit Target tomorrow to and buy a beanbag or something with no arms.
Edit-The Room VR is actually really good. I played for over 2 hours before needing to take a break. Need to charge up and go back in.
I feel like I’m in minority report using the hand gestures lolReddit - Dive into anything

Would you recommend this to a quest 2 owner? The drawbacks on the 2 is narrow FOV, blurry text and picture and videos without any smooth motion.
It's never going to be contacts, a possible majority of people can't even use them, it's a guaranteed infection vector/lawsuit generator, and certainly the technology won't exist in the lifetime of anyone alive today. The day headsets are so small that its like contact lenses, implant or glasses, its gonna be scary how addictive that could be. The Fermi Paradox where alien races basically just come to the conclusion that its a waste of time to travel the vast universe when you could just VR it from home in a simulation nearly as accurate as the real thing seems all too real for humanity's future.
Have you played first encounters?Just got my quest 3, not really comfortable with glasses, the whole headset weighted on my glasses, which put a lot of force on my nose.
The AR part suck, the picture quality is worse than Nokia phone camera quality; but I got to admit that the passthrough is very convenience for checking your surrounding.
The graphic is unimpressive at best, it doesn't matter how good of chip it has, it is a freaking phone, you can see rough pixel and edges everywhere, but the upside is the convenience, it is so much more easier to play anywhere without cable. The cast mode is amazing of showing off the device to your friends and family, it let you see what the user see on your phone, plus the app let you launch game/recenter/turn on passthrough for them.
Airlink on PC is great, just make sure you are close to your router, and stop all your download, otherwise the picture quality will turn to crap (haven't try virtual desktop yet). The battery drain during airlink is a nightmare, I get barely 2 hour play time in no man's sky, then it take ~3 hours to charge.
I am heavily considering returning it, there are not enough worthwhile games to play. I will give it a few more try, but I felt like it would be more "fun" to get a super ultra wide monitor instead.
The only sutaible type of chair for sitting down gaming is a swivel stool. At least in my experience. How do you sit down and play?

Probably your issue, you should use Virtual Desktop. We used steam vr and the quest link.
The quest link worked with no issues. Had access to the PC quest apps. Friend already had a few games and demos downloaded for his quest 2 on the PC.
It was the stream VR with Alyx and cyberpunk vr that just did not want to play nice.
Everything was being done Through a cable from a USB port.
We did not know what the hell we were doing so I fully take user fault. But it was all a confused mess of glitch.
I expected things to go more smoothly and it was not.
Set-up a dedicated router for VR.Anyone got any tips for improving latency I have a 58003dx 6900xt 16gb Memory. Running Virtual desktop shows about 50 to 60 with medium settings I have a ax 1800 router running. Do I need to check my router its showing about 900mbs with 5ghz at the top? Little bit of novice to VD.
So I picked up the 512GB Quest 3, along with Beat Saber (from what I've heard, kind of the VR "killer app"), and Vader Immortal bundle.
I've had it since Friday, and I've been doing little bits of Beat Saber - a few songs here and there, as well as just wearing it in pass-through and browsing the web with it on. The only other headset I've used before is the first generation PlayStation VR, which seems like a dinosaur compared with this headset. That headset made me motion sick and gave me bad headaches, this one seems better, but I've not been pushing it and have been taking things kind of slow. I set up the virtual desktop thing, seems pretty cool.
Today I had about an hour free and decided to give the Vader game a try - very cool! I made it all the way through the first "episode" which took about the full hour. Feel a tiny bit motion sick, so I'm done for the day with it while I rest up.
Can't wait to try some more stuff and I have a few PCVR games I'll try to get working with it.
I love Shadowgate, is this a worthwhile game? Anyone played it?
Buddy ordered one through me, so I will see it this week.
Excited about pancake but realistically, it's just more vr with shitty vr games
I've just been at his place to check it out.
Hmm...do you mind explaining a bit on this point?I got an elite strap and it’s just ridiculous how much better it is in every way. It also makes it very easy to adjust everything. I would argue this is darn well mandatory for anyone who really wants to deep dive into VR, and that is very annoying.
I think shitty games is a bit too critical of a blanket statement but it is what it is, gamers are accustomed to flat games and VR isn't there yet so it's an up hill climb to convince people of why it's worth owning considering the entry fee.I've just been at his place to check it out.
Yeah it's good. pancake lenses are good. sweet spot is bigger. No screendoor effect.
Black levels suck ass.
FOV still sucks ass. Closest settings, I still feel like looking through binoculars.
Shitty games are still shitty games. Launched Alyx and I would say it is worth replay in this due to clarity alone.
There are some good games. To say something good:I think shitty games is a bit too critical of a blanket statement but it is what it is, gamers are accustomed to flat games and VR isn't there yet so it's an up hill climb to convince people of why it's worth owning considering the entry fee.
Completely agreeThere are some good games. To say something good:
Stormland, Alyx, RE games, GT7, Lone Echo.
For shitty arcade games, the ones that really work are of course beat saber, blade sorcery, job simulator.
Amazing mods for Doom3. return to castle wolfenstein, hl and so on.
Psvr2 + quest 3 seems like the best vr deal to cove 100% of games now.
But 97,65% of games are this terribe Fisherman's Style or Batman vr style of games. Constant talking, interact with some crap. 100% relying on you being in awe becuse you are in vr.
Default strap is uncomfortable and annoying to adjust. It’s just two pieces of cloth you pull, and it doesn’t have any counterweight or anything like that make the entire thing more balanced in the head. It works, but after a while you just feel like a migraine is coming on. The replacement straps have a counterweight (especially if you get the one with a battery), have a dial that makes adjustment easily, and is made of plastic that doesnt put pressure on your head. It's just way better.Hmm...do you mind explaining a bit on this point?
Is the default strap going to make things super uncomfortable? Does it depend on other factors (head size, hair quantity?)
Could not find it in the store and now I'm learning about side loading games. Quest 3 just keeps on keeping on.Doom 3 with hi rez texture pack and dynamic lighting is terrifying and looks absolutely amazing. Took a monster PC back in the day to play this and now it’s running natively on a mobile VR headset. What a time to be alive.

I'm new to all this.
