The Fucking MAN.
I've never decided to watch a whole movie on it (honestly, because wife would throw something at me for locking myself in the headset all evening instead of watching one together), but it's very fun to view YouTube on a massive screen--or Netflix, or anything streamed on your local computer if you install Virtual Desktop.
I hear that there's also a wealth of educational content out there but can't speak to it.
Of course a cinephile eye would be bothered by the resolution on Q2, but Q3's resolution is probably just enough to get over that limitation for most users.
I watched the entire INGLORIOUS BASTERDS last nite on Quest 2 cause my kid lost my glasses and I wanted to sit on the couch as opposed to too close to tv or at my computer screen.
It was great! In the past I've never really liked it and I dunno if something changeD or maybe the movie is just that good (it is), but using the prime video VR app in Quest 2 was super enjoyable and it really was great to see that movie on the 'big screen' again.
The other day I was playing with mixed reality with the Quest 2 (which is 'eh' just cause IRL renders in pixel black and white, which won't be an issue with Quest 3) and I had this GIANT portal on the side of my living room wall and that was showing a real time 3D environment (forest, tranquil, etc.) while everywhere else was just my home (I could see family, the dog, into the kitchen, etc.) and it was AMAZING! I do not think there is a mixed reality youtube player or movie player for Quest 2 but I imagine with Quest 3 there will be one and that is the reason I plan on getting it day 1.
tl;dr- turns out this image is not hyperbole but real. And you can get a sample now on Quest2 and it looks to be amazing on Quest3.
