You don't answer calls in this game. They just talk at you over the radio while you're playing.

the only reason I asked was because I just started the game. When I played the demo there was actually voice when i was on the call. No voice in the final game..what's up with that?

Pretty sure he doesn't. Unless I missed that.

They explain it later in the game, Sallokin, don't worry.

Sweet, thanks for the heads up. Now if I could only find time to play more than a few minutes a day...

I just finished the 5th Act. Such a fantastic game. My favorite reference to future MGS games is
Miller being murdered in 2005. Up until that point, i didn't realize it was in fact Master Miller. I kinda assumed that when i first started playing the game, but thought that he would be to old to be that Miller. Reading that was such a chilling moment, for a MGS fan. Also Huey having a kid named Hal was really cool. So was it Huey the one who went on to kill himself?

So what's the reason for removing crawl? I can see how leaning against a wall and moving might be hard on the psp (which I love) but crawling has been in the game since MGS1.

bish gets all the credit :)
So, am I supposed to have the thermal goggles at the start of
Chapter 2?
The enemies are practically invisible. I don't have them yet.

i got them at that point, did you finish any sidemissions? it's harder without but you can do it with proper camo and sneaking.

ugh, that's so stupid. If I only want to play the main story, I shouldn't be hindered.

I don't think I had them at that point either. I recommend bringing regular binoculars and scouting ahead of you that way. Also just move really slowly. They won't throw an alert down on you if you stop moving when you hear them shout "IS SOMEONE THUR???"

god, i hope you're talking about the later MGS games...

he is actually talking about peace walker and spoiling ALL deaths of MGS history. i bet you're mad now.
Like..
MFauli mad. crazy. batshit insane.
I hope not.

Couple of really small, stupid questions I was hoping someone could answer:

1. Is it possible to scroll through/choose the songs on the Walkman? Hate having to start from the first track every time I do a mission. I'll never get to Beyond the Bounds!

2. About the torture scene.
Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but I didn't really get where Big Boss got the saw from.

3. Same scene spoilers:
Also I didn't quite understand why he has The Boss's scar, I know it was explained but I didn't quite catch it. Teach me to play at 2am. :/

I think the jigsaw is in his scar

it was implied that Snake cut the scar into himself. at least, that's the impression I got. Also I believe he pulled the jigsaw out of his scar, even though that doesn't really make sense.

Edit: I'm desperate for some help in Extra Ops. Cmon guys, surely ONE of you is game for some Co-Ops? These harder difficulty boss battles just eat up an endless amount of ammo.

I never used them, and I just beat the game. That part isn't THAT difficult. There aren't that many enemies, and you can just memorize the spots, if you genuinely need to.

Man, you are only playing 1/4 the game. Also, I never knew people played MGS for the story.

I believe you guys mean NVGs. That was the only thing I could develop at that point. But I was developing them so I didn't have them yet, and that part wasn't too difficult... But man, the first boss you fight in ch 2 is annoying solo. I used plenty of
supply markers
.
A tip for fighting armored vehicles with escorts:
Use fulton on all but one, keep tranquilizing the last one, otherwise the vehicle will bring in more escorts

just killed the first chapter 2 boss,i dont know what they were thinking,3-4 shots from the rocketlauncher to take away 1 healthblock?really?having to use the fucking supply marker every few seconds is just no fun, worst bosses in mgs history

simply buying ammo in mgs4 via menu was so much better

You're doing it wrong.

Yep.

Lots of people have trouble with the bosses and just assume the game sucks instead of approaching it a different way. Everything in the game is easily accomplished with the right tool and the right plan.

Still, the game could be a little more clear on some of this stuff.

Finished every extra ops! The reward you get at the end was kind of disappointing. I was expecting a uber weapon or camo then you get that
Phone Call wiretapped Tape
.

UBER SPOILERZ (Make sure you completed every missions)

That was Miller right talking to Zero? So not only he is working for CIPHER like he told Snake in the ending, but he is also part of Les Enfants Terribles project. It also links with MGS2 /4. He says that Sigint was right and that AI are not good for combat (information control instead. They talk about Angola and the fact that they don't know how Snake will react to having two ''sons''.

I guess it kinda explains some event of MG2 and MGS. Extra OP 68 was :lol :lol, I even took picture :) . If you want a good laugh, knock him out and lie on top of him, repeat until you get Strangelove call.

I can confirm that every single extra ops are doable alone. I did all of them alone. Make sure you research the best missile launcher and you can win every vehicle or custom AI fights.

You should help me with the extra ops, vamp D:

I tried playing coop with some randoms today and coordination was impossible. Really frustrating.

Yeah, I really didn't know what Kaz meant by "forget the vehicle, concentrate on the troops" until I had fultoned away 10 of them. :lol

get ready for more boss frustration cause it gets harder...to beat that boss i had to do like 5 extra ops to finish building the
heat seeking rocket
and then it was much easier

i agree they made the boss fights ridiculously hard and dont explain things very well...esp taking into account the crap psp controls...the fact my analog nub is sticking doesnt help either on my old fat psp

im fighting the
cocoon boss now and i can get to the top and shoot the AI but always run out of amo/rations and cant call in a supply box

so far i beat every boss without grinding on my first try. just listen to the codec before approaching bosses and use some common sense guys ;)

it's pretty hard to die in this game with so many recovery items to choose from.

Made an agreement with another GAF member, refused to honor it because he was broke, but then had no problem continuing to buy video games.
when I try to take a pic the game says that cant create a folde to save the pics, the fuck?
