The ending to Quiet's story was fantastic too. Profound sadness :(

I also really love the speech Miller gives after being rescued, the VA nailed the delivery and the music was perfect.

And I'm probably in the minority but Paz is one of my fave characters in the series now, despite not thinking much of her in Peace Walker. Her tapes and cutscenes were so good and she was also integrated really well even into the story of TPP and its
twist/ruse
.

Lots of great moments in general for me in this entry (Huey's exit, Z tapes etc., the list keeps going).

If I was to pick an episode that was well done, I'd say it was episode 20 or whatever the episode with the creepy parasite lab is.

It was also a painful reminder regarding Silent Hills' fate, what could have been :(

If it was still in development there probably give it to the LA team.

I know for a fact that the LA team is not working on Silent Hills. They just working on MGO3 updates and all the DLC tied with it.

Also, i don't think the team there could take on development of a big game like Silent Hill.

A shame hopefully they make a game for console.

Yeah and the whole point of excitement for Silent Hills was the involvement of Kojima, KojirPro, del Toro, Junji Ito etc.

yup. i was excited for that all together. :(

interesting speculations on that website tho. I guess people can see whatever they want if they stare too long at it. haha They are fun tho.

"Kojima: In MGSV, we hand the story (the legend) over to the player. That's how the player becomes the Big Boss in the MSX2 Metal Gear. You play the game as you will, raise up your Mother Base. That's the way I want the player to create his own story, thinking of things like "war" and "peace" as Big Boss. Up until now, the Metal Gear Saga was told by creating video games, but I want each player to think and come up with their own story (legend) on their own."

now everything makes sense.

kojima stopped giving a shit

Of course. He stopped caring about metal gear's plot a while ago. He just wanted to make an open world game and had to put a mgs wrapper on it. Lucky for him he can now do what he wants.

He was successful in telling your own story though. It's fun talking to others about how they solved missions and what wacky tactics you can use. Very, very successful on that part.

That's quite the theory.

The ending to his post though...

"Gouge it Out

You'll notice, she's missing both eyes. The left one, appearing to be cut out. The Right, a bloodied bullet hole.

Seem familiar?

This is Big Boss showing hatred towards The Boss for causing him to lose an eye. Left was to be taken out by a knife, right ended up getting blasted."

It's that deep but he can't even remember that he killed

Are you trying to tell me that there won't be a Silent Hills?

So... Where were you guys when you realized MGSV was the worst game in the series? Me? I was in a chopper on my way to not faux Outer Heaven.

I don't remember exactly where I was, but I was about 10 hours in and I realized that Kiefer had recorded 1/100th of the usual Snake dialogue and this game was going to be light as fuck on story. Everything I had feared about the game was realized. It was Peace Walker 2.0 with a higher budget. Kiefer half assed his performance. The behind the scenes bullshit at Konami/Kojipro resulted in a game that was clearly incomplete and rushed to market.

still a great game, but by fucking far the worst numbered MGS.

I remember seeing review quotes like "Little story" and thought "Oh ok, they must mean for an MGS game. That makes sense." Man, Destiny has a more in-depth story than TPP lol

lol at people trying to blame on mgsv on sutherland still.

kojima stopped caring, put in a shit script. theres nothing to work with.

MGSV really suffers from being positioned as a mainline game when it really is just another side story.I mean always said it's MGSV not MGS5 but still.

I was playing bloodborne and realised just what a good story and gameplay actually feels like.

Since when does MGSV have bad gameplay though.

Yeah he had a great performance when he actually did speak. And there's a reason to why Snake talks so little in the game that has nothing to do with the casting.

Holy cow. I really dig that P.T direct relation to MGSV. Its so good!

It's 100% talking about phantoms.
"I saw me, walking in front of myself. But.. it wasn't really me."

"But then one day, he goes and kills us all!"

"Tactical Espionage Operations" and the upside down, red V in A Hideo Kojima Game
https://youtu.be/UXIZSHbnJO0?t=187

I hadn't seen anything P.T. related (aside from the end of that vid where some streamer found the Silent Hills ending part) because I wanted to play it after I bought a PS4, but since the game is no longer available that plan has failed.

So after reading about this theory earlier today I came home and watched P.T. on youtube and hoooly shit... I too can definitely see it being related to MGSV and boy does that change things if true.

This would also fit perfectly with what Kojima said about doing something in MGSV that has never been done before in a game.

I was thinking how much time I could save by having a dedicated eliminate the x side ops loadout.

Then I realized: why

I'd really like to believe this PT and the Never Be Game Over shit, but this stuff is just too insane and never ends up to be true. I think the game's fine as it is anyway

Though that famitsu article definitely means there's something, but that's probably just the disarmament scene.

Yeah, I thought Sutherland was fine honestly. The reason for choosing him over Hayter was garbage, as was everything Kojima tried to throw out as defense pre-release but Kiefer was solid.

Ya'll getting trolled hard by a guy without a job. The flipside is P.T has more chances of happening with him outside konami, just not with an AAA budger tho.

I'm perfectly fine with MGSV as it is now, easy GOTY.

The P.T. thing being true would be neat precisely because it's so insane though.

P.T. wouldn't need a budget nearly as big as MGSV either way.

Did they say why. ?
I got the impression based on this. https://www.reddit.com/r/NeverBeGam...w_are_japanese_fans_handling_the_ruse_cruise/
Someone mentions how the japanese amazon rating for V is a lot lower than american amazon.
Pretty much this post
They are far less tolerant of it than we are.

While in the west, people are saying "but the gameplay is good!", the Japanese are saying it's no excuse for an obviously incomplete game.

It's interesting looking at the amazon reviews for the west, which has an average of 4.5 out of 5, while the Japanese average is much lower, at 2.9 out of 5.
So yeah if anyone understands japanese, they can read the amazon reviews.

Yeah, but why do people think Kojima will do something like this. Because of the MGS2 Raiden thing? Other than that Kojima's never done anything that insane, so people need to stop acting like he's always got some ruse under his sleeve. He made a game that was different than the other MGS games and fans didn't like it. That's all there is to it. Thinking theres some sort of huge ruse is just being in denial. Konami wouldn't even want to risk that shit.
Then again, I visit Never Be Game Over occasionally and I want to believe. Maybe I'm just trying to keep expectations down

It has more to do with how TPP was revealed (with Moby Dick Studios etc.) and how people did detective work to figure out that it was MGSV. They even figured out the location of the hospital being in Cyprus.

After the jig was up, Kojima said that people figured things out faster than KojiPro expected and that he had want to do something like this (something that messes with people and makes fans put their thinking hats on) for a while, something that spills outside of games.

And then of course came P.T. as well and how it was revealed.

True. But what could it be? Chapter 3 (or according to some also Chapter 4 and 5)
It's probably just the disarmament scene. But then again, how about when the MGS twiter posted the bloody snake picture and said it wasn't cut content. Or when Peeler said "keep playing, there's more to MGSV." Or this new famitsu article that the official Konami twitter retweeted. Is it really just the disarmament scene. I hope not tbh but that's the most plausible answer to me right now

I was just talking about the P.T. theory, not Chapter 3.

Chapter 3 is most likely just the nuclear disarmament scene, and the title Peace makes perfect sense for that. If there is further DLC then cool, more MGS is always welcome, but if not then I won't be losing any sleep over it.
