Very Beginning spoilers...hope someone can help me out regarding the first hour.
Just beat the intro...wow! But What's up with the character creation at the beginning? Is Kojima messing with us? Or is it for something later...if it's a spoiler, please don't say exactly why it's for...just tell me it's for later. It would be awesome if Kojima was just messing with players thinking they were gonna create a whole new character.

Never played any of the MGS games before but I just picked up:
MGS1 (psone classic on PS3)
MGS 'HD Collection (MGS2, MGS3, Peace Walker)
MGS4
Played a little of MGS1 last night and made it to Revolver Ocelot - looking forward to that fight after work tonight.

In that time, I want to re-complete MGS4 and complete Ground Zeroes (yeah I know, I still haven't). Even skipped Peace Walker which I also wanna play through.
Also, I have TPP waiting on Steam but it is not a Collector's Edition. How will I be able to get the extra costumes and items? Do I have to pre-order the Collector's Edition for console?

So apparently the Steam version of MGSV actually unlocks 8 AM Monday... and there is a tropical storm scheduled to hit Tampa on Monday... Work would be canceled if that storm was bad... I've never wanted a hurricane to hit us so badly before.
I'd be worried about losing power and not getting any MGSV at all.
Ah that sucks. I've been trying to stay out of most mgsv threads bc I am afraid of spoilers. I need this game... I am torn do I keep with my gorgeous planned out day of Sept 1st or do I try to get the game early from a a local game shop. I feel like a jerk if I go to a store and ask them to break street date. Feels like if I went to a gas station when I was 17 and said "do you guys sell alcohol to minors"?
