Fair enough.
And, again, I see your point about it making sense for her to be traumatized and even to have some weird attachment issues early on. What doesn't make sense, IMO, is for someone who has already overcome so much and done so much to still be that awkward teen girl in an entry that, canonically, comes after Super Metroid.
Of all the overwrought and nonsensical characterization, for me, the worst part was having the return of Ridley, whom she had faced and defeated so many times before, cause her to literally and visually revert into a weeping child.
