He just made the movie a must watch. For all the wrong reasons sure, but still.
Also, casting a white man to play a guy that had extensive surgeries to change his ethnicity on the outside... I don't see what's wrong with that.
Now casting THIS guy is... well... a genius move. It could be incredible.

Lightening your skin, getting a nose job, wearing straight hair extensions, and trying to pass off children of European heritage as your birth ones most certainly do though.
Thing is, I don't see why people are able to call it what it is when it is Lil Kim, but stop just short when the conversation turns towards Mike. You can like Michael Jackson, and at the same time accept he bought into a standard of beauty that is very much Eurocentric.

It goes more than that really. An average dude who isnt feeling their looks would most like still be cool with having a mixed kid.
Mike's kids could have came out like Meghan Markle or a Rashida jones(Obviously the genetic jackpots of racially ambiguous enough women to pass for either or) really but he wasn't going to gamble on it. He didnt want to take a chance on a speck of nappy hair, a speck of brown skin, or a speck of a wide nose like his. His hatred of the way he looked means he could have never taken that risk. He probably was never happy a day in his life as an adult. Really depressing to think about.
If you look at his face it really didn't change that much. Makeup and the straight hair gave made a huge difference in the perception. His discoid lupus caused his nose to never heal from the initial surgeries and as a result he was constantly losing tissue - yes, it was actually deteriorating and it was probably humiliating. He was actually building up his nose in 2009 using tissue from his ear. I don't know why he went with straight hair in his final years but he had to wear a wig anyway because of the Pepsi commercial injury, which was followed by a lot of botched surgeries to fix it and excruciating pain. Maybe it protected his skin better from the sun because with vitiligo he was more susceptible to skin cancer, I don't know.
I think under the circumstances MJ looked pretty good and I'm never going to judge him for how his looks changed.
