The deal will be approved. I think ftc will lose and ms will close the deal after that ignoring cat and cma.

But xbox execs are shitheads fanboys and that's what is being exposed.

Legally binding documents: Acquisition agreement stipulates that the deal must be approved by relevant regulatory bodies, including the CMA.

Fanboys on Cope: "I think ftc will lose and ms will close the deal after that ignoring cat and cma."

The rest of us after seeing this BS for 1000 + pages straight:

I wonder how much Microsoft has invested in their X-Cloud technology... You know I wonder if it were me I could just consider axing my excloud business as a concession to passing through the Activision acquisition. I mean the content that would come from acquiring this publisher has to be worth more than cloud streaming in the long run? Maybe? I don't know...

I don't think this would be a good thing for MS to do, because they honestly believe Xcloud is THE future.

I'm not a xbox fanboy. I just think MS doesn't care about uk and their execs could defy cat and cma.

leaks are not the problem, the problem is that your main competitor knows the hardware you will sell on the market, an advantage that I don't remember in gaming.
for example, microsoft could very well have made its dualsense if it had known it immediately, so as to cancel one of the advantages of ps. and applies to any feature of future competitor hardware
You know partners usually sign NDA agreements that legally bind them to meet requirements to not disclose or share any information described in the NDA agreement, right?

Also, I guess you know Microsoft works closely with other CSPs such as Amazon, Google and Oracle and share sensible information that is binded by NDA agreements, it's a usual practice.

And how did the judge (the same actually that will do FTC) consider these in the other lawsuit?

It's only just come out. The "gamer's" lawsuit is still in progress - and the judge made the order that the cases are related so this will be considered on merit.

The gamer's were disadvantaged because MS wouldn't give them access to the same depth of data as regulators on concerns about control of information.

Microsoft so bad, what kind of company would talk internally about murdering their competition hmmmmm.

"We targeted Microsoft from day one -- we were ruthless," he says. "I'm not of this mentality anymore, but at the time it was life or death as far as I was concerned. We had this expression in our business meetings: 'Kill them right at the start and take no prisoners' when it came to Microsoft."

Oh they also leveraged their other business markets to make deals, how dare microsoft do that lol.

"We were asking what we could do to make it difficult for Sega or Nintendo to come back," he explains. "We didn't start with a big portfolio of game development studios like Sega and Nintendo had. We were really friendly with third-parties right from day one, which was [president of SCE] Ken Kutaragi's idea. He had made a deal with EA from the start and in Japan some of Sony Music's A&R team reached out to SquareSoft and got Final Fantasy"

Same shit just a different colour on the logo.

Like if Amazon, Google, VMware, Crowdstrike, Ivanti, Apple, hasn't ever mentioned this very exact thing about Microsft internally, only MS is capable of being so evil by saying that on internal conversations discussing business decisions, right

You're clearly missing the point.

People aren't laughing at the emails and saying, "Sony would never do this."

This is about Xbox fans who denied MS is capable of this behavior and the e-mails prove what we have already known for years.

You have to ask adamsapple adamsapple about his position.

Just wait for my segment where I'm actually revealed to be The Booty himself.

If the balls are in his throat... next is not the right position

I'm all for this then.

adamsapple adamsapple I fully expect you to put on an annoying voice and constant call Jim Ryan a bitch.

As for the booty reveal. Ya better be riding a jet ski like that dullard in Tiger King at the end.

Threads got real quiet after they confirmed its legitimacy. I wonder why that is?

Was this all a, "thought experiment?"

Needs time to assemble on the discord and come up with a new line of defense plus we have some working through the night and is time to change the shift and put the others apart of the latest development and spinning/coping options

People will laugh, but it does sort of feel this way. People can't be that happy with knowing their idol worship thinks they're dumb as a box of rocks, can they?

100% on point, and thank you for posting that.... i don't understand why people keep trying to make Microsoft the "bad guy" in all of this. Both Sony and MS are ruthless whether you want to see it or not. Big corporations. Money. Makes the world go round. Sony just as guilty of these tactics as any other company out there, it's just reality.

Only one has the financial means to make it happen. That's why.

Context and nuance are a thing. Sony can want to do it, all companies do, that isn't the argument, but it comes down to having the financial means of doing so. Then actually acting on them, which is why regulators and anti-trust laws (which were written BECAUSE of MS in the 90s) are a thing. To check these corporations who have the means to EXNTINGUISH other companies while swallowing and altering entire industries to their control.

If Sony were MS's $2.6T and doing this, the very same thing would apply.

"Good guy" and "bad guy" perception labels and how it impacts you, is your own personal emotional attachment to a brand problem.

None of them are goody goody your friends company.. but putting this both in the same jar is just ridiculous... more even so with MS history of anti-trust practices. But you do you my friend.

You have to wonder if some posters here are paid shills or just hoping to catch the attention of someone that is so they make the introduction to Greenberg for them.

Why are you excusing away why MS has done so poorly in the video game's space. Plus...................

It's only 70% if you act like Nintendo doesn't exist. Many of your Xbox fanboys seem to always exclude Nintendo when you talk about market share. I wonder why?.....

I'm not excusing anything, but they are where they are. They still need to try and improve and increase market share, thier shareholders expect this and it's thier responsibility.
Or are you saying they messed up so they should just give in?

As a switch owner and ps5 owner (who's spend more time playing ps5 than xbox in the past 2 years) I'm wondering how it is that I'm an xbox fanboy? Why is it anytime someone says anything in defense of ms they are labeled a fanboy? It's really lame.

As to Nintendo in this case, I was leaving them out as it's not a traditional console, it's really more of a portable.

Oh no... we all know that if they are allowed to complete the merger they will make COD and all activions games exclusivise.. as they should by the way..... this was never in doubt .. apart from some of your friends here screaming to high heavens thst they would NEVER do that.
We already have some of them contradicting themselfs overhere

I agree, their long term plan was always exclusive......the whole point of the purchase.
(Well along with more content for gamepass)
I've always maintained that, right through all the Bethesda deniers too. I just happen to beleive allowing ms to have Activision levels the playing field a bit though.

On the contrary, it creates an uneven playing field.

Currently, both Xbox and PlayStation (and their users) have access to Activision-Blizzard content. That's the very definition of an equal playing field.

Only if your looking inside a bubble. It's not even because each side still has its exclusives, and it's universally accepted that ms has less AAA software than it's competitors, this would even that out.

Xbox has more studios than PlayStation now, so they can (and likely are) producing more exclusive software now.

With the exclusive content accounted for, only equal access to all third-party multiplatform game publishers will mean that there is a level-playing field.

More studios does not = better or equal studios. Volume doesn't mean anything really if you don't have enough AAA system selling games. There has not ever been nor will there ever be an equal playing field, exclusives have always driven the hardware.
