This is absolutely not true. The CMA's objections are really daunting. MS has now offered a significant amount of behavioral concessions, but there's no guarantee that they'll be accepted by the CMA.

It's not going as EASY as Microsoft would have liked, but at no stage was this transaction ever in the level of trouble people made it out to appear. CMA is saying a whole lot, but they've made crystal clear they WILL consider behavioral remedies as a solution in this case even though it typically isn't a case in which they would accept them. The fact that they've put them on the table and have acknowledged third party agreements and ongoing contractual discussions by Microsoft to address concerns is a major deal.

Today's nvidia deal has addressed by far the biggest concern the CMA had, the cloud. It wasn't the console part with sony. CMA's largest concern was with Nvidia. And I guarantee you Microsoft is more than willing to make the same cloud deal they did with Nvidia with other cloud services so long as they require their users to have already bought the game the same as Geforce Now.

I really want this deal to through because even if MS screw this (which I don't think they will) I think Playstation is actually only trying to stall this to get the best possible deal. Having this massive competitor with Bethesda+ABK and so will put good pressure on PS Studios, and history shows that they really deliver when under pressure.

Why don't you turn it around? If the deal fails then MS will need to compete with their own IPs and studios.

Why is it always Sony that needs to compete with their studios? They already have more than enough awards and their console is selling well.

What 58 Microsoft published games are on Playstation? Zenimax games? Because that is bulshit. Those games aren't on Playstation out of the goodness of Microsoft's heart. They're on there because they decided to buy Zenimax (a company that was publishing on all platforms and didn't need 'saving').

I’m guessing Fallout 76 was made because it was a relatively cheap way to have something from Bethesda and generate income while they did preproduction on Starfield. Same as how Naughty Dog put out Lost legacy while they did preproduction work on TLoU2. That was not a desperation game.

And every publisher accepts exclusivity agreement. Microsoft is free to offer those as well, they can obviously afford it. They had no problems doing it with Mass Effect, Splinter Cell, Netflix, etc.
