This would be a total fart if all the wait was for nothing. They had to do this because of meltdowns from MS putting games on PlayStation. Vague language and fluffy corporate PR spin won’t make people change their minds.

Exactly, if they are not clear at least a little bit, the damage to the brand will continue....

Looking forward to this likely being a massive nothing burger and some previously exclusive games coming to Nintendo and Playstation so Microsoft can make money.
If that's how people walk away then Phil's done his job well. In 2 years time we'll probably think a little differently but others will point back to his precisely chosen phrasing and say Phil gave us the whole truth all along we were just too dumb to see it for what it was.

This comment really shows just how much the rumors have changed the discourse.

Not even six months ago, Xbox putting any game on PlayStation or Nintendo would have been unthinkable and made some peoples’ heads explode. Now, after a week and a half of rumors, Xbox putting “some previously exclusive” games on other platforms is a “nothingburger”.

Phil running around prior to 6 months ago signing agreements to bring games to Nintendo and PS5 as part of the Activision deal was a big indicator that they would be bringing games to other platforms, so it's not exactly a surprise.
