if they solve the problem with the screen i would buy the band 2 asap

Now that Microsoft is focusing on Mobile First, Cloud First and adding additional functionality to Office and 10 OS overall (Sway, Clip, etc).

Would it kill MS to implement a program akin to the Courier concept? What happened with Project Austin? Feel like buying N-Trig is a huge step towards this.

fix'd

It isn't perfect since I need to turn resolution down (1280x720) and most of the settings, but I've played for ~10 hours on it and it's more than adequate. Just make sure you get a bluetooth / USB mouse or something though. It's unplayable with even the best trackpad in the world.

FWIW I'm playing at 1280x720 resolution and on the Core i5 version. Runs around 30-40fps maybe, but I haven't had Fraps running or anything.

Battery while playing also lasts longer than I expected - 2+ hours straight even with the brightness turned way up.

Cool, thanks, I'll try it. I have the Surface mouse and although ridiculously expensive, I think it is worth every penny.

sp4 day one if its 14".

Also what is "windows hello"?

a system that turn up the computer when recognizing your face or iris, basically an identification system

Windows Hello is the feature which enables various forms of biometric authentication.

-Face detection through a 3D / Infrared camera so it can't be fooled by photos (it can even distinguish twins)
-Iris scanning
-Fingerprint

So you can unlock your PC using whatever of the above it supports.

It also integrates with a more general feature called "Passport" where you can use those credentials to also log into web sites and applications which build the support for it (which is supposed to be pretty easy).

I just want the sp4 to improve on the pen tech. If it's the exact same hardware but the pen is somehow improved I'm still buying.

SP4 will be mine unless there's some kind of spectacular fuckup like all the models in the range being Core M with nothing beefy available.

I'm assuming 3000 battery on the smaller Lumia with 5.2" screen and slightly worse processor wrill last about the same as the 3300 battery on the 5.7" with better processor? Coz I don't even think I want a bloody 5.2" screen and I definitely don't want a 5.7" screen.

Even with its shortfalls, I wear my Band daily. I even tried an Apple Watch for 2 weeks and returned it to go back to my Band. Waiting eagerly to see what Band 2 offers!

Yeah,.i have used my Band everyday. Looking forward to the new one. Hope they expand on the app and features of it as well.

Looking forward to see what pen tech and CPU options they have with the Pro4.
I went from SP1 to Sp2 and due to the pen tech not being Wacom, didn't bother with Pro 3. Hopefully they go back to Wacom tech (or a pen tech that doesn't require a battery).

With Nokia Maps being free and available on Android, there's nothing in the Windows mobile realm that appeals to me (used to own a 640). But more competition/innovation is always good.

I like the features with the original Band but it looked kind of bulky and I read some poor reviews so hopefully the fixed everything with Band 2. Still rocking a Mifit for now :).

Didn't MS basically buy ntrig? I wouldn't hold my breath for wacom

It would be a huge mistake if Microsoft did not go with Skylake.

Whether Skylake will be used is not even a question. Of course they are using Skylake, otherwise why November release?

The question is whether Core M or Core U. Apparently Core M for 12" and Core U for 14"

Where'd you hear that?

If you liked the Surface Pro 3 you'll definitely like the Surface Pro 4. Don't worry, it won't be using Core M chips

Tom Warren@tomwarren
@TiagoJoseMC definitely wait for the 4. October.

@tomwarren My SP1 died and I don't really want to go months without one. Do you think I'm gonna deeply regret grabbing an SP3 nowish?

Tom Warren ‏@tomwarren
@FishFaceMcGee yeah you will, it's not just incremental

Personally I think technology behind Duo Sense 2 is fine. I just hate the pen's physical implementation (sticky side buttons) and the pressure curve in software is pretty whack still.

Would I love 1~3 grams initial detection force for the pressure assembly like Wacom has? Sure, but I can make do with N-Trig's 10 gram IDF if their pressure curve is modified so I can modulate between 10g~15g easier.

Approximately how long after the conference will the Surface Pro 4 launch? Might put off buying a new guitar for now, lol.

I probably shouldn't be so eager to give them money given my Surface Pro 2's battery has gone to shit but it used to be amazing ;-;

Yes, you're right--I was caught up in my reply.

It would be a big mistake if Microsoft does not go with the Skylake-U for the SP4. Save the fanless, less powerful hardware for the standard Surface line. If the Surface Pro stands still in power for another year, I'll more than likely abandon the product line after years of use.

The rumor is early November.

Well the own Ntrig now so I doubt the pen is going to change much.

It's between Dell (XPS13) and Microsoft (SP4) for me.

If you can give me:

  • Skylake U i5/i7
  • USB Type-C (Preferably 2)
  • Great lap experience
  • NVMe SSD Support
You get my money (I'm willing to give leeway on that last one).

I'm not generally up on phones, but is 32 gigs of memory not kind of light for a phone these days?

I'm still running a nokia 1020 and I really want a new windows phone.

Neat, thanks.

Hopefully the Surface Pro 4 is a lot lighter if they want me to spring for the 14 inch version. My 10 inch SP2 is already on the upper end of what you'd want for a tablet(when just using that part)
The Pro 3 weighs 798 grams versus the Pro 2's 907g, so it's ~10-15% lighter. I'd expect the SP4 to have similar weight at the same size, considering Microsoft announced that the SP4 would be compatible with SP3 hardware (specifically the Surface Pro 3 Dock).

For that reason, I would also expect it to have the same charging port and USB port placement. They could have a second USB port, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

The problem with Microsoft is that they make good shit mas they can't sell their shit. I live in Brazil and it's very hard to buy Microsoft Hardware. If they had a good online store like Apple things would be better. How can you expect to be sucessful if you make it difficult for people to buy what you sell?
