- inflation is running rampant
- they are barely breaking even on the series x
- the storage expansion saw a decrease in price
- gamepass is incredible value for only $15 a month $17 a month, I would easily pay $25

- Once the activision deal closes gamepass will be a bargain, why spend $70 on cod when you can pay $17!

- you had 3 years to buy a series X and top up your gamepass before this justified increase.

- still better than paying $70 for starfield

Cost of living was higher then especially fuel cost in my country. Sony also introduced these price increases before the holiday season which IMO was not the best for us the consumers. While interest rates continue to rise food costs are starting to fall now. Ultimately things are starting to look better now for the average household than it did then.

Price increases ARE inevitable but of course that often comes with a sales strategy aligning with what a platform might consider their next huge success. Sony does it. Microsoft does it.
