Thats a good question for one I don't know if I am being honestIs there going to be a new tier for this?
Just the loss of sales for the Xbox division and the recent closing of some studios not sure it's the right move but I'll take it.Why not both.
Rubicon moment for Game Pass and Phil Spencer.
And people who don’t have gamepass are upset by this… somehow..
Exactly. All games should be free and then they can all be as big as Fortnite. It’s the sensible thing to do.
Last desperate gasp for life to convince satya not to shut it down.
It will be around that.Pretty sure it's going to be priced at $19.99 USD/mo before this happens.
I think he goes if this doesn't work.
No, we all understand this is an attempt to increase Gamepass subscriber #s. The skepticism is about whether it’ll actually provide that boost, and whether Gamepass will even prove to be sustainable in the long run.If/when they put it on Game Pass they know it will reduce traditional sales. They are banking on it increasing subs, and thinking long not short term - because they can afford to do it. They are trying to change the market.
People hurr-hurring about less sales are missing the point (from Microsoft's perspective). They don't care, they are rowing in a different direction, like it or not, and only time will tell if their people are right, or the people on here...
Stop it. Majority of CoD players play on Playstation (this is obvious and self-evident), + PC. Xbox is third.RIP CoD

It wont hurt PS sales obviously and likely wont move the needle on PC sales as my guess is the vast majority play on BattlenetABK is the only part of Microsoft Gaming that made money last quarter. This is a big risk.
It’s simple - when the village idiot walks the streets, don’t interfere.Time to destroy all value of some of the most valuable brands in the medium. MS is a blessing because they can make mistakes that would’ve otherwise sinked anyone in the business. And they’ll act as a shining examples in business for years to come.
Sony and Nin strategy at this moment is to not interfere with Xbox’s own stupidity, I guess.
ABK is the only part of Microsoft Gaming that made money last quarter. This is a big risk.
Using Welfare’s post and going back to ATVI earnings reports, it looks like the ABK side of the business lost a significant amount of revenue versus year ago (-17.3%) likely due to CODMW3 selling a fair bit less than CODMW2.
ABK JanFebMar2024: $1.971 billion
ABK JanFebMar2023: $2.383 billion
$ change: - 412 million
ABK year over year $ change, -17.3%
Diablo is on gamepass right now.I still have a hard time believing it.
The ABK games are still not on Game Pass almost a full year later.
But if they do...
Because people are quick to jump to the fray without actual analyzing the situation. It wont hurt PS sales obviously and likely wont move the needle on PC sales as my guess is the vast majority play on Battlenet
So how big of a chunk were actual Xbox sales and would this move have more people looking at the in game store and buying battlepasses and MTX in game?
That's great. I'm talking about the rest of them.Diablo is on gamepass right now.
Because ABK is big purchase that needed 1 year fighting to approve it.That's great. I'm talking about the rest of them.
All the Bethesda Games were on GamePass 2 days after the acquisition closed. It's been almost a year since ABK and Diablo 4 is the only one.
As for Diablo 4, it was also announced at the business event and that's makes it look extremely reactionary in my opinion.
It's definitely strange the ABK games aren't all on there yet.
This is what I'm thinking too. There is risk for CoD on Game Pass, but it might be lower than we think, or at least low enough to have this be a final sort of test for Game Pass as we know it.It wont hurt PS sales obviously and likely wont move the needle on PC sales as my guess is the vast majority play on Battlenet
So how big of a chunk were actual Xbox sales and would this move have more people looking at the in game store and buying battlepasses and MTX in game?
Oh phil on his way out there is no doubt. His been an utter failure.Yeah I give Phil another two months before he is fired and they will shut down Xbox immediately after. That makes the most sense and the industry will be in a much better place after that happens.
What is interesting about this is that, if CoD was the only game you played, it would be a much, much better deal to just buy the game rather than spend upward of 200 USD to rent it per year.CoD is my only game, I have GamePass.
Will I pay £20 for early access and a "free" bundle. Of course I will.
Will I still sink around £50 yearly on battlepass + skins. Of Course I will.
So are MS really going to lose stupid amounts of money I would say no as the growth in Subs and new users to the platform (who may invest in Xbox further) should offset lost money in sales alone
I'm talking after closing the deal.....Because ABK is big purchase that needed 1 year fighting to approve it.
You can't rush something like without completing all the necessary steps.
CoD was devalued long ago.
The big question here is what this move does for PC Gamepass numbers.ABK is the only part of Microsoft Gaming that made money last quarter. This is a big risk.
It wont hurt PS sales obviously and likely wont move the needle on PC sales as my guess is the vast majority play on Battlenet
So how big of a chunk were actual Xbox sales and would this move have more people looking at the in game store and buying battlepasses and MTX in game?
And I told you the reason.I'm talking after closing the deal.....
And people who don’t have gamepass are upset by this… somehow..
You do realize its still going to be sold to PS and PC players plus all the MTX and Battlepasses still cost actual money? So they are gonna kill Activision revenue as well. Amazing!
People also don't remember that a Switch 2 version is going to be added... The majority of COD revenue comes from microtransactions. On the other hand, and that people also don't remember.... MS would now enter 100% COD on Xbox platforms. ABK had 70% of the income. That is to say, the revenue is not that they saw a strong hit and more so with other platforms (Switch 2, PC, PS plus mobile) compensatingIts still going to do massive numbers on PS and PC (people wont switch from BN to gamepass)
How small is the actual market for people buying it on Xbox?
