Bring back Crimson Skies.
O wouldn't say no to that
Bring back Crimson Skies.
I thought the optional dungeons were of very low quality and of little interest relative to the excellent story dungeons.
They talked to ken lobb years ago about perfect dark tho and he said ms was very interested in the IP. Let's hope it's true.
The last time they talked to Ken Lobb about it was way back in January 2015, and at the time he confirmed that nobody was working on a PD title at all. It's been long enough since then for a PD project to possibly have been started, but that means we won't see it anytime soon.
I mean, that was 2 years ago. Depending on when they started, could be coming by the end of the year.
Probably not tho.
End of the year would put it at just under 3 years but yeah. If it's aa like recore could be done in even less time but that guy made it sound like it was aaa story heavy with a lot of set pieces etc.Well, you probably need more than two years to make a really great Perfect Dark game. So yeah, probably not happening by the end of this year like you just said. Don't forget the original PD was developed for three years and turned out to be a great game.![]()
A couple answers from Phils twitter I thought were interesting. Still weird to me that he answers questions like this on twitter of all places.

Ooooooh. "Different IP with new experiences" could mean old IPs returning, right? Not even necessarily new IPs......

This first statement sounds like soft reassurance that they're planning to launch Sea of Thieves and Cuphead this year. Though, to be fair, we already could have predicted that.A couple answers from Phils twitter I thought were interesting. I think Perfect Dark could come back as a 2nd party developed game.
In Jason Schreier's report that documented Darkside studio's closing, it mentioned that Perfect Dark along with Phantom Dust were possible IPs that Microsoft offered Darkside to make a new game for.
It showed that Microsoft were pitching to outside developers their own catalogue to developers for possible new games, among them were Perfect Dark.
Here is the excerpt from the whole article:
Microsoft had a list of [intellectual properties] that we might be interested in, said one person familiar with Darksides pitching process, adding that the list included the sci-fi shooting series Perfect Dark, the action-card game hybrid Phantom Dust, and a handful of other Microsoft-owned properties. At one point Darkside pushed for Battletoads, according to that source, but Microsoft told them it was off the table.
It wouldn't be to far fetched if another outside developer were given the same pitch, and they ended up choosing Perfect Dark as their game (even as a possible reboot).
Also note, was Darkside pushing to do a new Battletoads game. Microsoft rejected them, though. Perhaps another developer is or was developing a new Battletoads game at the time. That's why it was off-limits.

Edit: He's talking about Crackdown/Sea of Thieves. Different IP as in not Halo/Gears.
State of Decay, Crackdown, Sea of Thieves, Forza and a bunch of indie funded games. I'm more than happy with that lineup for this year, 2018 is the big question.
E3 should be pretty interesting.

interesting..
And no Halo 3 Anniversary means they don't have any exclusive shooter this year.. maybe because we will see a Perfect Dark reboot as their big shooter exclusive this year?
Can a mean dream?
People saying that xbox is only Gears, Halo, and Forza is such a tired mantra. Really irks me. Yes, those are Microsoft's most successful franchises right now. No, those aren't the only games that Microsoft produces.I like how he had to specify "Not Halo FPS lead".
Welll I think it says a few things. They know Destiny is coming this year and it's going to sell millions and millions of copies in the Xbox regardless of sonys marketing so there's no need for a shooter.interesting..

Also it tells me imo that theyre really confident in either Crackdown or state of decay.

@XboxP3 Hey, do you think Mech Assault will ever make a return on new systems?
Phil SpencerVerified account
‏@XboxP3
@Lotus_Lila I do.
Phil Spencer ‏@XboxP3 3h3 hours ago
@Lotus_Lila The Mech world is just too rich to not come back to gaming at some point imo.
Im still convinced that sea of thieves is only seen in beta form this yearor Sea of Thieves.

Much like the Havok acquisition, while the companies are rooted in games, the acquisitions are not part of Microsoft Studios. Beam however isYeah, he probably most likely meant what you guys said. I just thought "different IP with new experiences" could also mean old IP returning. I'm not giving up much hope though........Where's my Banjo Threeie and Conker 2 dammit!
Btw OP, is it worth it to include the newly acquired SimplyGon in the OP? They are sort of a gaming related purchase, right? Just a reminder.

No, don't. Perfect Dark ain't coming back. The FPS MS is focusing on for 2018 is Halo 6.interesting..

Forza 7, Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and SoD2 totally fit this bill. Forza just had one of its best entries.Yeah, I can't imagine Forza Motorsport 7 and Ori 2 fit this bill, and those are the only games I can think of that could possibly be announced and still come out in 2017.
Crackdown isn't on that list. He could be referring to that. Technically they'd be adding to that list if it has a good showing at E3 since we haven't seen anything of it so far really.Yeah, I can't imagine Forza Motorsport 7 and Ori 2 fit this bill, and those are the only games I can think of that could possibly be announced and still come out in 2017.
Phil teasing some upccoming unnanounced multiplayer games or am I reading this wrong?

The article he is talking about
EDIT: Man, he better not be talking only about Forza 7
I don't think there's anymore AAA or AA games that are going to be revealed and released this year.
From E3 I want an hour of the games ill be playing this year and the last half hour focussing on 2018/19. Let's see the Xbox roadmap for Scorpio.
Forza 7, Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and SoD2 totally fit this bill. Forza just had one of its best entries.
Forza 7 is going to be heavily touted by MS.
Forza 7 is going to be heavily touted by MS.
MS has a ton of IPs not being used that could be popular
Mechassualt
Perfect Dark
Conker
Battletoads
Brute Force
Blinx
Age of empires
Banjo Kazooie
Fable
according to wikipedia they own 107 IPs for gaming. They just need to use them
I'm expecting smaller stuff like how they partnered with cuphead, Tacoma, ashen etc. I expect those kinda games to be shown off
Also tbh I could see 1 or 2 VR games based off of MS games coming to vive/rift. Phil did mention "experiences"

I'm not sure Brute Force and Blinx could ever be popular.
VR titles is gonna be one of their bigger showcases at E3 this year. After all, this are the only sorts of exclusives the Scorpio has to help sell it.

Perfect can come back as a TPS and fill the splinter cell gap, though with some craziness, need to bring back Elvis!
