Man that compression.
Odd position to take by them. Yours is a position that should be commended my friend. The open-mindedness needed amongst the Tolkien community around the world.
I've been looking back at my past posts to see how many times I've been talking up this game, and it's cool to see so many other OG hype men from the first gameplay video thread. Ironcreed, VanWinkle, SJRB, and everyone else who knew this was going to be special from the beginning: we've been vindicated.
Sorry for the self-quote, but can anyone who has the game answer this? I know some people can just adapt, but I just can't adjust to a non-inverted camera. Please tell me "invert aim" affects the on-foot camera, and not just the bow aiming camera.
Haha, nice! Forgot I even posted in that reveal thread, but I remember being blown away. So happy at the reception the game is getting, and I especially can't wait until Tuesday to play it.

Brad from gb said video stuff is embargoed till launch. So expect a df article on Tuesday or Friday.
Add rig at the end
Thanks I edit with your pro tip.
The combat is more arkham, the traversal is more asscreed.
I think I will plug in the DS4 for this one, though the M/KB controls do look quite solid.
If there are difficulty levels, I will definitely be starting this off on hard.
Also, streamer is obnoxious.
Where did you see the kb/m controls?
Obviously an insult to the man's legacy is strong, but you could you explain why you don't find this game's approach... distasteful?
One thing I don't like are all those:
-notifications on screen
-symbols
-glowing bodies when in stealth mode
It really may break the immersion. Will we be able to turn them off?
Because I have never been bothered by others playing around with the Middle-earth Legendarium. The reason for that is fairly simple: all of the adaptions of Tolkien's material are completely incidental to what actually matters - the material itself. The books we've all come to love will always be there; you can be a Tolkien enthusiast and never give a rats ass about anything but what the man himself (and his son Christopher) have written. You can completely ignore the films, video games, table-top RPGs, LEGO, board games, action figures, etc. None of it's canon, none of it is being spliced into Tolkien's books, none of it really matters at the end of the day (if you get my meaning). Peter Jackson's alterations to The Hobbit aren't permanently changing the book , and Monolith's liberties with the timeline and setting aren't either.
Plus, I'm all for more people getting into Tolkien - no matter how they come to it. It's been a while since anything Tolkien related has been regarded as cool or relevant, so the fact that so many people who aren't even fans of the Lord of the Rings seem to be latching onto Shadow of Mordor and are excited to check it out makes me happy. It looks like the game may indeed generate some new Tolkien fans, which I fail to see as a bad thing.

Haven't there already been several streams of the Xbone version posted here? That definitely doesn't bode well for the ONE version.

What stuff? Reviews are already out.

I thought it looked fine.

I'm wondering whether to get this on the PS4 or PC.
My PC specs are:
i7 2600 OC'd 4.4 ghz
780 Ti Classified
16 GB memory.
I'm thinking PS4 since I know I won't be able to run the game at ultra textures which I heard the PS4 version has, but also the exclusive DLC the PS4 is getting.

Good points. Do you think there's a point where an adaptation can become so unfaithful to the original works that it jumps the shark, so to speak? Or does it not matter as long as it ultimately points back to Tolkien's works in some manner?
Currently pre-loading on steam. Can't wait!
May be my last PC purchase before I get a PS4.
PC or console, PC or console, PC or console, PC or console AAAHHHHH.
Really torn on this issues. I wish DF had something up, I want it on the big screen but it's cheaper on PC and it'll probably look better.
You should probably just give up on PC gaming man.I'm thinking PS4 since I know I won't be able to run the game at ultra textures

Usually it is the other way around, don't give up on PC.
