Quick n' dirty.

Actually your art is better than the original.

Holy shit, hahaha.

PSN codes don't normally work before the store updates later in the day. I'm surprised so many are having issues with this; only a few things release early on the store.
Duh.. This makes a lot of sense. Recently I got my work days moved around...Today would normally be my "Wednesday", that's where my problem was. No worries, ill scope it out later today. Thanks.

Is GAF really being name dropped for being mean?
I always find it weird when GAF gets namedropped by devs as 'people there are being really nasty to us!'. It's not wrong that GAF can be absolute pricks about thing (speaking as one currently irrationally furious about fucking paper mario), but I'm wondering if the devs have dared going to a far less filtered venue like Reddit or the chans, or hell even Twitter.

If GAF is the standard for 'the internet is being mean' for someone then I can only imagine how that someone will react to the negative feedback the minute they step out of this fairly moderated forum. Though I guess I understand more in cases where said dev was posting here regularly before getting put off like Jaffe or CliffyB and they're speaking about something more specific.

Well I guess I'll give this DRM free version a crack, since I'm guessing it'll take a while for them to fix whatever the key issue is for the Steam version.

remember me fondly, gaf

edit: hm. the installer makes no shortcuts and borderless windowed doesn't work. shows 360 button prompts even when playing with keyboard
off to a great start!

edit edit: okay the desktop shortcut was apparently my fault, so i'll retract that one.

I'm really hoping my local game store gets the game today, I don't want to cross the entire town to go to the store that I know gets it today...

I know this isn't the narrative people want after everything. After the delays, the problems, the art... everyone wants to see this come out and bomb. And it probably will.

...but I also just spent the last two hours playing it, well after I should have gone to bed, and I think I was smiling the whole time. I've been staying positive about this game the whole time, but was still coming in with tempered expectations, and... this game is pretty great. The first time I found a boss weakness was absolutely gleeful. It lacks polish, but the magic is still there.

It's not going to change the world, but it's a good and solid action platformer. More of a Mega Man 4 or 5 than a 2, 3, or 9. I've finished four levels so far, and I've definitely struggled through certain parts, usually because I was trying to go too fast instead of taking some time to learn the layouts, but it's never felt cheap.

This game is great, guys. If you backed it, give it a shot instead of immediately writing it off. If you don't like it, then at least you gave it a fair try, and if you do like it... tell a friend. Because this game, like the original Mega Man, is a great game with some rough edges. I really hope we get to see the well polished sequel.

Edit: Playing the Steam version.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I don't see what is so mindnumbingly bad that the herd needs to pile on and proclaim how utterly atrocious this is. The graphics aren't great, but the game looks fun.

I dunno, the game is actively trying to prevent me from playing it. The DRM free version is running just fine, but it's not saving data.

So... there's that.

What I've played was plainly average at best, but to be fair that was only the intro and the highway stages. I don't think it's bad but... I can't really fault anyone for being more critical of it.

I can't believe that even after all of these delays, they still don't have 4 versions of the game ready to go. I wouldn't be surprised if the handheld versions(which the visuals were originally hobbled for) along with the xbox360 version got canceled.

Just to defend the direction a little, it could also be seen as a change in art direction for a more 2D / old school look, which is not that bad when you thik about it. That last gif looks more like a snes megaman than the others.

so, it looks like the game wont be up on european psn stores till june 24th (friday). and thats the reason why i wanted a us code.

I watched a stream yesterday that made the game actually look really fun. I'm guessing it's a fun play if you get good. But it is a shame the game looks so bad - especially after all the amazing character designs and artwork produced for the game.

Sure, but did it have to look so drab and lifeless? Even in its darkest stages Megaman was still very much a colorful game.

Yeah most level have a sad techy indy lok that i don't like but for exemple the city stage looks kinda like a megaman x, just a little less saturated.

But i mean people are regretting those early mock ups but they were way less megamanish than what the game is now.

I seem to be facing a pretty gamebreaking problem. Almost every time after I get hit, Beck will continue to run forward for about a second regardless of my input. This often causes me to get hit again and the loop repeats. Surely this can't be intentional. Does anyone else relate?
