Mike Pence expressed dismay Saturday over Donald Trump's lewd comments about women, saying in a statement that he was "offended" but wanted to give his embattled running mate a chance to "show what is in his heart" at the second presidential debate.

"As a husband and father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump in the eleven-year-old video released yesterday," Pence said in a written statement. "I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them. I am grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people. We pray for his family and look forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night."

Pence earlier cancelled an appearance in Wisconsin amid the fallout from Friday's video.

Guess it was only a matter of time before Trump pissed off his running mate enough for him to speak out.

And that, friends, is what I like to call the ole' Trumped Up Trickle Down of Bullshit.

May it trickle til November.

Tu quoque, Mike, fili mi!

Even "The Governator" has spoken out.

I find it incredibly ironic and henious that these people disavow Trump for saying shitty things about women, yet day in and day out they continue to say shitty things about LGBTQ individuals and don't even think about any consequences from it.

I noticed a major change in tone in this Politico story posted a few minutes ago. He may not be ready to leave the ticket but it does sound like he's completely calling his own shots now.

Mike Pence is not currently thinking of leaving the Republican ticket, according to a source familiar with the Indiana governor’s thinking, and is counseling Donald Trump to directly confront the explosive scandal around his comments on groping women.

The source, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said Pence and Trump have spoken on the phone multiple times since Friday's revelations, and that he’s advised Trump to further address the leaked audio at Sunday’s debate or elsewhere.

After Pence made the decision Saturday not to take Trump’s place at a Wisconsin event with Speaker Paul Ryan, he spoke with Trump on the phone to inform him. He also informed Trump that he would be releasing a statement, the source said.

The call was described as cordial.

The campaign says Pence still plans to attend a pre-scheduled fundraiser in Rhode Island on Saturday and will be there in the afternoon.

You know you'd think a multi-billion dollar group such as the GOP with hundreds of fact finders and people dedicated to digging shit up on people for use as a strategic advantage would maybe look into something like this before it tanked the election for them.

Why are these people only bothered "as a husband and a father"? You should be bothered as a human fucking being.

This is easily the most fucked up election in long memory. This is could be the third largest slaughter in an election behind Nixon beating Nixon demolishing McGovern in 72 and Reagan defeating Mondale in 84. So many morons still think Trump has a chance. Pretty much alienated all but the 20-30 year old racist, misogynist white male vote.

Wow, thankfully the nannyfucker has weighed in on this matter. Arnold should probably just shut his mouth at this point.

Not rape. Not sexual assault. Some are outraged because of the language, or trying to fuck a married woman. The second half of his statements are far far worse.

Good for Arnold for speaking out.

I don't understand the purpose of releasing a statement using such strong language whilst simultaneously refusing to disavow him. It's not just Pence, but every significant Republican figure; Ryan, McCain and even McConnell have come out with blistering statements that lead you to believe the final sentence to be their rejection of Trump as their candidate. How is that you can publicly admonish your candidate with a sharp tongue but are not able to withdraw an endorsement?

It is just satire at this point. The Onion writers must feel so inadequate right about now.

Isn't there supposed to be more dirt to come? This election cycle has been nuts.

What a load of shit.

"As much as when you see a blonde with great tits and a great ass, you say to yourself, 'Hey, she must be stupid or must have nothing else to offer,' which maybe is the case many times. But then again there is the one that is as smart as her breasts look, great as her face looks, beautiful as her whole body looks gorgeous, you know, so people are shocked."

"I saw this toilet bowl. How many times do you get away with this, to take a woman, grab her upside down, and bury her face in a toilet bowl? I wanted to have something floating there ... The thing is, you can do it, because in the end, I didn't do it to a woman, she's a machine! We could get away with it without being crucified by who-knows-what group."

"Bodybuilders party a lot, and once, in Gold's--the gym in Venice, California, where all the top guys train there was a black girl who came out naked. Everybody jumped on her and took her upstairs, where we all got together."

"Whatever I thought might hold me back, I avoided. I crossed girls off my list, except as tools for my sexual needs."

Like I said, Arnold should just shut his mouth.

So depending on Sunday's debate performance Pence might just stop wanting to work with Trump.

Delicious.

I always thought someone as corrupt, criminal and xenophobic like Lex Luthor being within a mile of the presidency was one of those stupid comic book things like no one noticing Clark Kent is Superman that you'd only find in a comic book not real life. Yet here we are.

That would involve fact-checking and actual work. GOP is allergic to that, and besides why deal with the trouble when they can just bitch, deflect, and generally act like a four year old to get their way without the empathetic need for research and reading...

lol that's just too rich from arnold

He's like that guy in the other thread. "Hey, you guys! I don't like Trump either!"

touche, i'll leave it for posterity. I still think that everyone needs to speak up regardless of their own past. Of course they should be ready for heat to be thrown at them.

Haha, indeed. Arnold lucked out somehow, because all of this stuff was made public during his campaign. He apologized too. That made his recent comments all the more surprising.

I'm pretty sure Trump is gonna do alright with the old white person vote as well.

I feel that at this point, Mike Pence is basically Grima Wormtounge...sticking unhappily to Saurman's side long after the battle has been lost simply because he's terrified of the consequences if he leaves.

I'm going to buy some popcorn for Sunday :)
From an outside prospective (I'm not american) this is better than an episode of my favorite TV show!

I think he's actually going to come out of this okay. At this point, he looks relatively sane. Tons of sympathy points building for him now.

He just needs to drop out. That would be hilarious.

It won't but it may end up in the top 15 or 20 at least. It may match or slightly exceed reagan's 1980 win margin in the end.

Trump might as well drop Pence and pick up this man

GB is his only hope at this point.

It's time to grab this election by the Busey.

Arnold has definitely said just as reprehensible stuff, but that being said I find it amusing that he inherited The Apprentice from Trump and is not backing him as President.

Can Trump "Fire" him from The Apprentice? Would be such a petty thing that he -would- do.

The Apprentice is owned and operated by NBC, Trump has no control over it as far as I'm aware.

Trump has nothing to do with The Apprentice, it's an NBC property that he was just employed for. NBC Separated ties from him a year or so ago after his Mexican rapist comments.

Considering Trump was himself fired from The Apprentice by NBC last year, I doubt he has any say.
