I'm proud to stand with the winner of Sunday's debate and future president Donald Trump. He has the vision, strength, and good heart needed to turn things around for our country.

Gotta pretend like there's some big change to rally behind.
 
Historians will have so much fun reflecting back on the mess that is the Trump debacle of 2016, let me tell you that.
 
Honestly Pence might as well drop.

He's already gotten from this cycle what he wanted. Increased national profile to give him a shot at winning the nomination in 2020. There's nothing in this anymore for him.

Let's be real though, he'll just throw Trump under the bus really hard and republicans won't care 4 years later.

That said I'm pretty sure Trump's fucked the GOP's chances for at least the next decade already anywyay.

Ryan can do that. Cruz can even probably do that. See McCain's logic above "I thought it was important to respect the wishes of the party, but then I realized I no longer could"

If Trump had even a tiny bit of intelligence he would realize that bringing up Bill Clinton is a huge trap. Clearly though he doesn't get it.

I was watching Fox News today and one pundit wants Trump to resign and have Pence run as the president . He plans to have daily / weekly polls on twitter asking people if they would rather have Pence as president instead of Trump to 'gauge' the audience.

Pence is a lot more of a threat.

If Pence took over now, they get all those conservatives back who were so disgusted by Trump they were either going third party, or just not voting at all. Most of my family falls under this category (and it took awhile before they dropped off the Trump wagon, hell, my brother is still on it). As for the rest, if they have generic republican #3415 they can throw a vote at, they will.

Replacing Trump at this junction would piss off a great deal of his supporters. They're hosed no matter what they do.

Furthermore they can't really replace Trump anyway so it's kind of a moot point.

Many fervent Trump supporters are not actual conservatives. I think Pence would lose a lot of them. I imagine the die hards just wouldn't vote. They only care about Trump.
