I want this to be good, hell if we get a Detroit Become Human like hit here I would buy it asap. But no previews anywhere and they just drop a preorder now blindly please. Possible red flag.

Contrast this to Hell Is Us which for a new ip and studio knew that they had to sell us on the game with long gameplay videos.

Judging by the gameplay video at Sony's SOP, this looked like it needed/needs WAY more time in the oven...
I'm afraid that they're trying to bet/coast on L.Benzies's name 'cause man, that gameplay video looked janky as fook.

Some observations:
- the running animations are straight up GTA
- ...as is the general feel of the new CG trailer.
- gameplay looks straight out a 2010's vidjya, shooting, cars exploding, wall hugging and even more shooting.

I don't know, something sounds fishy to me and - again - I think they're betting on Benzies's fame.

I ain't placing a 70 Eurodollars bet on this, besides, June is all about Death stranding 2 for me.

Nobody starts a studio with the intention of making shit games.

Leslie Benzies is a Scottish video game producer, and the former president of Rockstar North, a subsidiary of Rockstar Games, until 2016. Benzies was first credited as producer on Grand Theft Auto III, and subsequently on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft...

Here is a list of all his credits. He is listed as producer on all GTA-games since the third one. Game designer on GTA 5. Development director on Vice City. Director for GTA Online. I think the reason he is not credited as director is because it doesn't list as such in the end credits of the games. Being a producer and game designer holds a higher status in game dev than game director. It's only fairly recently that people are credited as game director and are put front and center in marketing.

(As an example, Shigeru Miyamoto was producer and game designer for Super Mario and Zelda but it was actually Takashi Tezuka who directed them. Yet. Miyamoto holds a far higher status than Tezuka does. Same with Hironobu Sakaguchi on Final Fantasy. He was the producer of the franchise, but it was Yoshinori Kitase who directed the games.)

Yes the gameplay looked pretty rough in the last showing, but this trailer looks quite promising.
