Why does it look so much like gta rage engine?
uh? outside fanboys. i don't think normal people are really hyped about this game.People are gonna find out real soon one man doesn't make a game good.
its 60$Agree, it somehow looks equally polished and jank. Seems like it can be fun though, and thats what matters most. But fun at $45 or under.. don't think I'd p[ay a full $70
I welcome third person shooters, I ain't gonna spend $80 on it tho
its 60$
MindsEye
MindsEye is a story-driven action-adventure set in a near-future America.store.playstation.com
Because like 80% of the studio is ex-Rockstar staff and Leslie Benzies fixed a lot of what was broken on RAGE during the seventh generation. Why does it look so much like gta rage engine?
its 60$
same lol
sameThis game does look strange. Good and bad at the same time. Generic and interesting at the same time. Quite curious about the final result, but not enough to buy at launch.
Being an open world game where none other exist of the type these days?Watching the newest gameplay it sort of looks like a remake of some lost Ps3/360 era game.
It doesn't look terrible but I feel like it needs an extra hook, right now it looks very standard. You know, Gears had the cool weapons and enemies, Uncharted has the setpiece moments, Vanquish has the fast movement, Max Payne has bullet time, etc. What does this game have?

And thats bad because? But it doesn't even sound like a proper open world, the team itself describes it as a "faux open world"
From how they've described it, it sounds like Mafia 1/2 where it's structured like a linear story driven game with an open world that's more of a window dressing and doesn't really have anything for you to do in it outside of the main missions
And thats bad because?
It's not necessarily bad.
I just don't think it's a particularly compelling hook
This is what they're asking you to pre-order btw, if you want to see some actual gameplay:
Eurojank by USA?

How is it not compelling? The only other "faux" open world games out there are the Mafia 1 remake and Mafia 2. In a sea of 100s of open world checkbox slogfests, this is basically going to be the third one that isn't one of those in well over a decade.
Maybe faux open worlds didn't catch on because having an open world with nothing much to do or find in it just isn't particularly compelling to most people. At least Mafia is set in a somewhat underutilized setting (for games) so seeing 1930s "Chicago" digitally recreated was part of the appeal.
But if occasionally having to drive from one objective to the next is going to make this an amazing experience to you than that's great. To me it doesn't really do much to detract from the fact everything else about this looks super generic and uninspired.
If you really like the first Death Stranding you might want to double book June/July.DS2 will be my June and July game due to length I imagine. April is Clair, May is doom.
He couldn't fix the look of it. Nothing Rockstar's made on RAGE has looked as good as what they've made on RenderWare.Leslie Benzies fixed a lot of what was broken on RAGE during the seventh generation.
