Minecon is next week.notsol337 said:Is it minecon yet? The only reason I haven't been playing is a-waitin' for 1.9!
Looks like you were forced to use windows to get it right.celebi23 said:So, here's what I've been working on (finally finished it):

N-Bomb said:What do you guys need 200fps for? Can your monitor even refresh that fast? :\
The human eye can't even perceive much above 12 individual images per second. 4 times that is probably safe from jerky motion.
I'd rather go with quality if I'm hitting that on max fps. Max fps to me is if your hardware is deficient.

The vine harvester is my first non-piston powered section... Vines will not grow past to cover piston blocks!
Also, you may see some trees around!
Ranger X said:The human eye "speed" doesn't correspond with FPS. It's all about contrast. You eyes are seeing changes in brightness --- and extremely fast. For instance, in a movie running at 1000 fps and displaying all white frames except one that is black, you will notice it.
However, the movement becomes extremely natural around 60fps. It's where the "smoothness" reaches its max. Well, max that the brain cares for.

Ranger X said:At this point it's clear the next version will be the release version, next friday.

Very much liking the new sounds, with the exception of the eating sound - maybe I just need to get used to it, but it just sounds weird to me.

There's also a seedy hidden underbelly that requires a keen eye, a keen ear, and quick reflexes to get to.
They are really quite bad at games it seems (or they are good actors).NihonTiger90 said:Having watched the entire YogsCast It's Better Together video series ... have they gotten worse at this game?!?!

It really annoyed me, way more than it should, what they did in the last video.
Let me know when it goes Diamond. #OverusedJokewilflare said:the moment we all been waiting for

You can do that in SkyrimMengy said:I can't wait until NeoCraft is updated! Until that time Skyrim has my soul.
Nah, I'll still play a bit of Minecraft this week too. Skyrim is excellent, but I miss digging in the depths...

I agree, it's great that they focused on bugs and performance issues. Notch's quote:Vlad said:Huh? It's just him admitting that it's something that slipped through the cracks and wasn't able to be implemented before MineCon. He's not stating how much of a priority it is or not.
Personally, I'm much happier that they spent the time fixing all the bugs and performance issues.
He apologized for it, there are ALREADY a ton of mods for Minecraft, and it sounds like he didn't rule out possible future support, right? No worries. One thing that kind of fell between chairs is the mod support.. Sorry about that, I take full responsibility for letting that get forgotten about.

They finally picked a release date, plus they have a con, so they kinda have to stick to it no matter how short a time it might have been since the last patch. Presumably there may be post-release patches as well.Ranger X said:So it was like 2 days of bug fixing for pre-release 6?
Does this means that most bugs aren't fixed and only some major ones? This smell likes an awfully short fixing time.
