well, i also liked the answers he gave, but i began from a place where i said i likey him. seems grappling townie to me. just like you.
im not moving my vote for now. i wanna hear from stan.
i think he's the only one who hasnt checked in. and we dont have a lot of time in our day phases in this game.

Staying silent on specifics for now (as I don't want to give away my reads just yet), but there's a couple other people I'm curious about too.
I must admit I'm very curious to see how Stanley will play this game. He's typically not been a high poster from what I can tell, but his intuition is sharp.
oh im talking about sorian. he's GAFia's rep in the Mafia Invitational. he won the first round, which is awesome but lets see how he does in the next one.
i learned about 'peeking' from spectating him over there (at mafia universe)

you know i was hoping to use that community roomonfire gif when i finally got to post, but yall are acting completely civil and having reasonable discussions in here.
who are you and what have you done with Gafia?
anyway, while i wasn't able to post earlier, i did find a few moments to keep up with the thread and so i have had plenty of time to consider the peeking tom plan of action, and i honestly think its a good idea, cant find any reall problems with it.
consider me #teampeek
however, on that note i did think of a possible sticky situation that might arise from this plan that i dont think anyone else has mentioned.
it comes from the issue of having to maintain the facade of having confirmed another player to be certainly town, when you have no such confirmation. while you may have been heavily leaning town on this player when you made the peak claim, but if that opinion changes (as reads so often do) you are kinda stuck keeping it to yourself, which would be especially problematic if you may have picked up on something scummy about said player that others missed.
its a small issue, but one i do think we should consder.

Nice to see you Stanley. I actually haven't considered that wrinkle in the plan before. It is true that it might be a problem for the people who are fake-claiming. The only I can think of to get around it is to do the peeking in as formal of a way as possible, and then for all of us to agree to disregard the peeks as being consequential. At that point, it becomes a matter of the cops having to pretend that the people they cleared have not actually been cleared, but that is a blessing in disguise since we might very well have a godfather in our midst anyways.
I'm not actually against peeking. My first post was against it as an excuse to attack Kawl a bit - although I abandoned that idea mid-post when I realised it was too easy for him to answer to.I think that if we agree to peek it has to be everyone. We need the possible pool of cops to be as large as possible for this to work effectively IMO, so if peeking is what we're doing I think it's got to be all or nothing. And I am down with that, I just don't want it to be like a handful of vanilla townies + cop since at that point I'm not sure if it's stronger than just letting the cop do their own thing.
I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on it though, particularly Splinter's since he was initially against it.
I'm literally not reading a single post, I'm just going to wait for Cabot to get lyncharoonied
I noticed both of you being there for the opening and then promptly going silent.
I'm awake! I was skimming the thread again to get a feel for what people have posted. We still have a few people who have posted very little content of substance, or just plain haven't posted much. Among them, I think Cabot sticks out somewhat. He has so far posted a bare minimum of posts, and has yet to reach the 10 limit, but he was present right at game start. However, most of his posts have been pretty fluffy, with a significant fraction of them being reaction gifs and an avatar quote.. The last time he posted, he said that he would discuss something later, but he hasn't come back to elaborate on that yet.
So:
Vote: cabot
I think that's a strange thing to scumread. The posts she quoted look like someone exploring a new idea. I don't really see being unsure as scummy?I think that timidity is what is bothering me. I mean, it's understandable given that Kawl has proposed a relatively new meta strategy, but... take a look at some of these posts.
Feels like it's a bit back and forth between confidence and timidity. Maybe I'm looking into things too much tho.
I think Sophia's case against Ynnny is weaker than her case against SkyOdin*. I know she hasnt played with Ynnny before (noone has), but I think she knows her well enough to expect some fluffy comments within her posts. What do you make of yeeny vs Sophia? It's interesting Sophia has went on the aggressive so early against someone she's had no experience against as a player.
oh i just saw cabot's vote on me
:>
guess he had been wanting to do that since archer XD
so cute
context: i only got 1 vote in the entire game of archer.........( from septimus_prime, who i had bullied for the bulk of the game. lol. )
STOP METAGAMING U FILTHY DRUNK >:O
Ah, those where the days.People, team yurop does exist.

Well that's kind of the problem. Your reads will change but night action results won't. I guess the solution (as someone else already mentioned) is to agree to ignore all results (even the real cop ignoring their own).Eh, I mean the game changes as the days go forward: hitting scum on a lynch, the cop dying in the night, some peek targets dying through lynch or night kill.
Your point seems to come from the angle of the game is in one set state and doesn't change.
I think it should be OK if the cop is aware of this and doesn't ignore their investigation targets.Well that's kind of the problem. Your reads will change but night action results won't. I guess the solution (as someone else already mentioned) is to agree to ignore all results (even the real cop ignoring their own).
Um, the setup is chosen randomly.Judging from the OP I assume if there is a Godfather in play, Town will have a suitable buff to balance it.
- The role distribution can be assumed to be reasonably fair. If town is powerful, mafia will likewise be powerful and vice versa.
People, team yurop does exist. I was in bed.
What do you make of yeeny vs Sophia? It's interesting Sophia has went on the aggressive so early against someone she's had no experience against as a player. We've had games where scum bus each other day 1, though I'm not leaning that way particularly right now.
Thoughts?
The scum setup is chosen depending on how many Ts (ordinary town, no PR) are rolled. Note that serial killer is third party.sounds like a tailored randomisation.
Scum Roles
TTTTTTT = Goon + Godfather, Serial Killer (Investigation Immune OR 1-Shot Bulletproof)
TTTTTT = Goon + Godfather
TTTTT = Goon + Godfather, Serial Killer (Investigation Immune OR 1-Shot Bulletproof)
TTTT = 2 Goons + Roleblocker
TTT = 2 Goons + Roleblocker, Serial Killer (Investigation Immune OR 1-Shot Bulletproof)
TT = Goon + Roleblocker + Godfather
T = Goon + Roleblocker + Godfather, Serial Killer (Investigation Immune OR 1-Shot Bulletproof)
0 Ts = Goon + Roleblocker + Godfather
Somehow I missed day star. :/
Welp, no use in crying about it now, let's do this town!
Vote: Kawl_USC
This is not random unlike my usual day one votes. Belong late does have it's perks it seems. I don't like him going straight to power role speculation right out of the gate. It's very much WIFOM, but doing so is a very easy way for a scum player to get a head start and some town leadership cred.
Well, there's a reaction.
Discord was a joke. This was a vote. You made a reason up, instead of asking me why.
I find that interesting.

On a related read, I don't like Yn's positive reaction to Sophia's post. Nor do I like her suddenly turning on Sophia in response to being questioned, and then I think she continued to townread her? It looks like a combination of sucking up to someone, and using aggression to dissuade an attack.
Ynnny, explain yourself.
There wasn't a real reason. I just place a vote on someone at the start, and as I said Kawl and Splinter would have been too obvious as my first choice.
I mean it was a leap, you leaped over any potential thoughts of my own and assumed your own thoughts for my vote. That's not particularly helpful when it comes to determining my alignment, unless you already know it or you don't particularly care about it, which leans more to scum than town.
and here i thought we could count on each other to form best townie synergy the way we did in archer. it's almost as if you've forgotten how i play ....... :< you're the ONLY ONE in this player list who should know me better than the rest of them, cabochon!
my heart
it breks
</3
That's Ty in the back, scumreading me.
1. Kissing Sophia's ass
2. Erratic reaction to suspicion from Sophia
3. Erratic reaction to suspicion from Cabot
4. Referring to past performances in own defense
5. "You should know I'm town"
Did I forget anything?
VOTE: YesNOnoNOYes
I'm secretly pleased every time I get the capitalisation right on that.
Given that I think we've established that more peeks total strengthen the whole idea of peeking, I feel confident people will get on board now. Inless someone can explain how peeks from everyone would be detrimental to town I will see the lack of a peek as scummy.
Or rather I'll say I want it to be all or nothing. And if we decide on all and people back out, clearly that would be scummy.
well, while we are grasping at straws.
this bugged me,
though i cant decide if its the guilttriping people into going with his plan, or just setting up an easy opportunity to accuse someone of being scum.
5. "You should know I'm town"
I'm literally not reading a single post, I'm just going to wait for Cabot to get lyncharoonied
vote: catvoca
needs more catvoccian voice so i may form betterer read on this player~
so far, seems to be one of the quieter ones who's quite happy to not be too visible
Sure, Kawl has said a few things which bug me, but I ask you the question I asked Terra, would you lynch him today for it (or anything else)?
