If they're anything like the key lime pie kitkats we had in Japan this summer, I'll bet they're excellent.

EDIT: Oh, yeah. Lemon Cheesecake. Not key lime pie. My bad. Still very good, though.

There's a shitload of them sitting out on the snack tray where I work, but I've managed to resist them thus far...

international tom snackery!

EDIT: when I 1st heard about international kit-kats it was like finding out they were secretly gay whilst overseas -- like sailors.

I just checked the kitkat website and the hershey website and it had very little about the mint kitkats. (Or other strange flavors, for that matter) Apparently they didn't sell very well stateside. Here in Japan, kitkats are a staple in the candy isle, and every new incarnation is given a spot on the shelves for as long as the product sells.
In Japan foods are sold seasonally. Different brands of beer have summer blends and autumn blends, and you can only get oden (a traditional soup with boiled nastiness in it smells like what I imagine old man crotch smells like) in the winter, although 7-11 has recently started selling that trash year-round.
However, some of the more interesting flavors of kitkats (i.e. mint, orange, lemon cheesecake) may have been considered seasonal by the Japanese. Therefore, they would've been up on the shelves all summer, and then gone by October.

Oh, an' ah am uh 'Mericun. I just live out here in The Rest Of The World, a dangerous place. Really. Don't bother. You wouldn't like it. Trust me. :D

do y'all get mt. dew over there? we get seasonal shit like that. and holiday pepsi, which isn't good, but not as bad as i thought it was going to be.

there were these 'overstuffed' reeses cups that had... i think it was m&ms, and krackel, and one other thing on top of the cup itself. pure heaven! but i only saw them a few times at a local mobil station. :/

oh and about the 'merican part: dear god man, i want to be elsewhere so badly; Japan has always been a dream of mine, but I'm a stupid gaijin who doesn't know a lick of Japanese (other than stuff like 'gaijin' and 'otaku')

Mt. Dew is seasonal? Anyway, we have Mt. Dew in the vending machines next to the high school a which I work. BIG cans. My high school boys bounce off the walls after lunch. Occasionally we'll see some weird variation on an old standby at the store, like Diet Vanilla Coke (gag) and try our best to ignore it.

A veritable parade of bigoted, hate-filled, slack-jawed mouth-breathers from every English speaking country coming together to bitch about Japan. A perfect place to start.

I'm an assistant language teacher. In layman's terms, I get paid to be foreign.

Oh yeah. I seen one 'o thems once. Looked too EXTREME for my taste. I'm not one to drink anything that looks like TidyBowl.
Oh- you meant Taco Bell. Pssht. I wish. I would murder an infant with a rubber ball for a bean burrito right now.

Yeah, I didn't know too much more than that (except for some useless anime words like "bakemono") before I went to Japan this summer on a study abroad thing (completely disregarding the "study" part).

But use of other relatives' money ever.

I remember working in the office and starving like heck -- my coworker offered me some left-over candy from her drawer and mint kit kats were one of them. Generally, I hat emint flavored chocolate but I was starved and had no other choice. Man, that was th ebest tasting mint chocolate I ever had.
