Hey, a Jackie Robinson movie is coming out. I had no idea.

Given the importance of his career, I hope they don't fictionalize his character too much in an effort to make the character seem more self-aware of his historical importance than he realistically ever could have been. It's hard to explain what I mean, but it happens in biopics all the time, and it kinda takes me out of the film.

Then you have some biopics that give an unrealistically positive portrayal of a character, which makes it hard to accept anything you are shown in the film. I didn't know anything about Ghandi before I saw the movie Ghandi, and they portrayed him as absolutely flawless, without a single misstep or even minor personality fault. Even the bible gives a more even-handed portrayal of Jesus than that movie did of Ghandi, and the Bible wants you to believe he was perfect! lol
