No, if the Phils trade Lee that is a huge hole to fill in the rotation, and with Doc and Worley coming off injuries they cant take that risk.
Lee is still a great pitcher with 3/4 years of control, Ellsbury has been a injury risk with inconsistent output and 1 year of control. That's nowhere near Lee territory.
Third base is going to be a black hole for us next year.
His 2 injuries were collisions. Shit happens.

Right, and he re-aggravated those injuries multiple times. That's part of the concern.
hmm interesting. since he has only one year left he might be had for cheap if a team pays for his entire salary.
I guess they just want to clear salary to sign a starting pitcher. A bullpen arm and 2 star prospect probably gets it done.

We have a short RF too, so that could work.
While he's not a great defender, he's not terrible and he's posted a wRC+ of 125 plus over the last three years. He'd be a good replacement for Swisher, but it doesn't seem likely that he gets traded.
Yeah, D'Arnaud is not happening.
Though in the same chat, Elliot says the Jays offered D'Arnaud for Profar and were rebuffed.

sadly 1 million seems to be the going rate for veteran Free Agents, no matter how shitty. Baseball salaries are insane these days, even the major league minumum will soon be over half a million.
