Word is that he felt "disrespected" by SF. I assume he either felt we should offer more than Boston or was still upset about being lowballed at the beginning of the year.

Harper has legit power too. He has more HR's by Age 21 than Ted Williams. He's going to be a beast eventually. His numbers are a little obscured by how young he has been in the majors. Felix Hernandez wasn't particularly outstanding through his first three seasons too.
