And I thought Carlos would be a nice fit for the Brewers to replace some of the power Fielder brought. Nice signing by the Rays
Michael Bourn and his career .336 OBP is a "True Lead Off Man"?
He's projected for about a .340 OBP next season. Players with similar OBP last year:
Melky Cabrera
James Loney
Howie Kendrick
Torii Hunter
Placido Polanco
Although pretty much all of those guys were better offensively than Bourn.
I didn't have much of a clue on the trivia, but I have a feeling it's A...
The Brewers just don't have the money to get any big names. They're nearing a franchise record, $100 million, and they have a washed-up prospect with potential (Gamel) and Hart to play first.
No, and no.Can someone be both washed up and a prospect at the same time? Also, is it fair to call Gamel washed up based on fewer than 200 PA?
Aramis Ramirez was one of the biggest names out there.
I had no idea the Brewers payroll was that high. Did they raise ticket prices?
Playoff revenue.
Yeah, Ramirez was a big name, and after signing him and K-Rod accepting arbitration, the Brewers were pretty much out of the game for any other big names.Aramis Ramirez was one of the biggest names out there.

No, and no.
Meant to or should have said, 'old'.
Just as Nelson Cruz was an old prospect when the Crew got rid of him.

Well, he's certainly not on an All-Star player trajectory.
I'm just glad we didn't trade Sabathia to get him!
The angels signed him.Speaking of scrap pile guys, whatever happened to Jorge Cantu? I would've guessed if anyone was going to have a Raul Ibanez-like second career, it would have been him.
Reds going to their classic scrap heap ways to pick up Ludwick off the pile cheap. Meh, hopefully he can recapture whatever made him decent in St Louis instead of the guy who has had three straight years of major numbers decline. I would take Gomes-esque numbers at this point.
The Rockies got more for Kevin Slowey than the Twins. Heh.Jon Morosi

Guess thats the Indians contingency plan for Roberto Hernandez. Like the move.
Nationals Extend Michael Morse
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [January 20, 2012 at 3:25pm CST]
The Nationals announced that they agreed to sign Michael Morse to a contract extension. The sides agreed to the extension before this week's deadline for exchanging arbitration figures and Morse has since passed his physical.
Tim Dierkes recently previewed a possible deal between Morse and the Nationals, suggesting a three-year, $18.5MM extension with a club option for a fourth year might work for both sides.

Are you secretly Jim Souhan?Ugh, I hate Slowey.
Why would they go after Colon and Manny? That's like the exact opposite of rebuilding.
A's are talking to Manny Ramirez.

You're going as senile as your geriatric first baseman.
The giants reportedly offered him a 8 year deal earlier this winter, which he turned down. He's said to prefer short term deals.Timmy can only get a 2 year deal?
