lol there's no way this is going to backfire on them.Marlins apparently have added a full no trade clause to the Pujols contract, per mlbtraderumors.

So what's going to happen after the Marlins sign all these players, and the SEC siezes Loria & the Marlins' assets?
If Pujols ends up resigning with St. Louis, would he still have his 10 and 5 rights? Or since he actually filed for free agency, that is null and he starts over?

Mariners are now front=runners on Fielder with Milw,Cubs & Tor all wanting shorter term deals....stay tuned
I'm not ready for a world in which the most potentially powerful baseball and basketball teams are located in a city/state that has irrelevant fans that only watch football anyway.
Besides, Pujols should become a Cub for maximum trollworthiness.
Damnit, means no happy ending.Sandy was on ESPN Radio comparing the Job to Vietnam War and Citi Field as a horrid warzone.
I can't process a baseball player with the last name Molina that doesn't play as a catcher. Kudos to those of you who can.
I think he can only get a 20% decrease in last year's salary.

New stadium + really smart front office + super sweet deal with the city = $Have the Marlins been hoarding money, waiting for a year like this? Then going completely for broke?
yeah as has been said he would get no trade rights after 5 years because of 10/5. Looks like he is asking for a nt for the first 5 years of the deal to have a nt through the 10 years. If Pujols ends up resigning with St. Louis, would he still have his 10 and 5 rights? Ozzie: Hanley has less to think about at 3B, joked doesn't have to worry about chasing balls, kicking them into OF. #marlins
A source told ESPN Deportes that Hanley told the Marlins that he is not playing 3B.
Also, Mets are a finalist for Mark Buerhle woohoo lol

Buerhle may take less money and play for another team.
it seems like every NL East team is a finalist for everyone of the big FAs. Well except the Braves of course.A source told ESPN Deportes that Hanley told the Marlins that he is not playing 3B.

Alderson said Buerhle is out of their price range.
White Sox are talking to Aaron Rowand.
Boston won the posting for SS Nakajima, apparently.
Sanjuro getting more of that sweet, sweet Nippon loving.
Why would anyone want to talk to Rowand? They must have someone in the minors that could do at least as good for far less money.
Pretty much how I feel.So torn on this. On the one hand, I have no rooting interest here and it would certainly be entertaining to see Pujols head down to Miami. On the other hand, I like the idea of a player staying with his team for his entire career. Especially a player of Pujols' caliber.
Whatever, either way this will be entertaining. Sorry Cards & Fish fan.
Sources: Meeting between #Marlins and Dan Halem of commissioner's office was indeed about matters relating to possible Pujols contract
100% convinced the Marlins are trying to offer Pujols some actual ownership of the team. Miami is all about the celebrity owners after all.
Good thing Marlins management asked their best player if he was willing to move positions before signing another SS.
