Braves to expand payroll in 2013, target "premium" free agents:

Braves GM Frank Wren told reporters today that the Braves look to be increasing payroll in 2013 and plan to be "much more aggressive" on the free agent market this offseason, going after premium players. Wren did qualify that, saying they don't plan to go "outrageous" with any one player in particular. The Braves are more likely to go for two high-salaried players than one with an enormous price tag. Wren said the current top priority is re-signing Michael Bourn.

Have about 25 million from chipper and lowe coming off the books. Makes sense. Lots of pay increases though.

Yankees announced the rotation for the Bal series.

Game 1- CC
Game 2- Andy
Game 3- Kuroda
Game 4 (if necessary)- Hughes

Smart to have Andy go game 2, I like him on the road.

I don't believe it was even directed at another board member. I believe he shouted it in the middle of a wrestling match. It's a shame. We'll never hear from the Frankman again. :(

Edit: I guess it was directed at someone. :(

Frankman was actually quoting a Botchamania video rather than directing an insult towards someone, but out of context, yeah, it looks alot different.

Either way, should've used more common sense.

I calculated the braves payroll out to about 71 million. That is without Chipper, Lowe, Hanson, Jurrjens and all other FAs besides Bourn who I just gave a salary of 12 million. (exercised the options) 1st year arbitration players I gave a 300% increase, other arbitration players I gave a 30% increase and just players under minimum or whatever I gave a 20% increase.
