Really? You don't think it's fair or normal for a player to feel slighted?

If this was the film Major League, yeah. If a player was dumb enough to convey those emotions publicly, not really. Yankees probably already have a good idea what kind of person he is already though.

Cano is practically being signed as a DH. Offers nothing of great value defensively or on the base paths, something Ellsbury has been signed exclusively for. It's also the New York Yankees, where everyone has bstshit values which don't necessarily apply to the structure of other teams. Apples and oranges and overpriced sports cars.

Again, this is just a tweet which doesn't mean jack. Just the notion he would actually feel that way after his entire career in NY is a bit surprising if done for anything else other than a signing ploy.

Just a tweet that he didn't send...

And it doesn't really surprise me to feel that way because he has been in NY his entire career... sometimes a player feels second rate after holding down the team when they were weak and they pay an outsider before him

Besides he didn't really announce it...

It's childish but many players are

The Mariners talks with Robinson Cano have broken down after Seattle made an offer of nine years and $225MM, two sources told Mark Feinsand, Bill Madden and Teri Thompson of the New York Daily News. The Mariners are no longer in the mix to sign Cano, reports Feinsand.

According to the New York Daily News team, Cano and his representatives from CAA and Roc Nation Sports arrived in Seattle with an eight-year, $200MM offer in hand from the Mariners and eventually received assurances that the Mariners would go to nine years and $225MM. However, a late change by agent Jay-Z in which he once again demanded $252MM over 10 years caused Mariners CEO Howard Lincoln to "explode," prompting the meeting to end.
Seattle's offer of $225MM over nine years topped the Yankees' best offer by two years and $50MM, Feinsand notes. However, the Yankees appear to be Cano's lone serious suitor once again. The Yankees reportedly have never been willing to exceed the $200MM barrier for Cano.

#yankees getting closer to deal with kuroda. not quite done but should be about $16M, 1 yr

Yankees keeping Kuroda. Time to give up the Tanaka dreams. Great deal for them though.

Rangers shock the world, sign Cano. Trade Profar to St. Louis
in my MLB: The Show offseason

5:30 am: Granderson is seeking four years, $60 million, while the Mets offered three years, roughly $45 million; there’s no evidence another team has made an offer (Puma).
So basically both sides are waiting, Granderson's people waiting for Cano's deal to get announced (team that lose would theoretically inquire about Granderson) and the Mets because they're holding firm since they have no competition.

If the Mets really want him they would sign him now.

Maybe they can get Jason Bay back

Jiggaman botched the Cano to Seattle deal?

LMFAO...Robbie, just come back to the Yankees and sign for 7/168M already. Be the cleanup hitter that replaced A-Rod in a theoretically-stout middle of the order. Just do it already.

[EDIT: If the below is true, then GG to Jay-Z and Cano for getting him his Fielder deal!]

I'm glad the yankees didn't sign Cano for those ridiculous terms. Have fun wasting away in Seattle where you'll be forgotten in 2 months.
