Which one of you Mariners fans use to shit on Cano?
Was not I. I was always afraid of him at the plate.

The AL West: home of the overpaid and those who wait to win that last game.
Whatever the M's front office does next, for the love of all M's fans, please don't trade Walker for Price. PLEASE.
so they did go for a 4th year. Reason being:The New York Mets and free-agent outfielder Curtis Granderson have agreed on a four-year, $60 million deal, pending the outcome of a physical, sources have told ESPN.
Wilpon/etc. wanted it done. Smart overrule. Also:1:35 pm: Mets ownership encouraged Sandy Alderson to lock in a fourth year to get the deal done (Francesa, WFAN).
poopy. The Mets will forfeit their second-round draft pick in 2014 due to Granderson receiving — and turning down — a qualifying offer from the Yankees.
Fire dah owners.
The Mariners still need an upgrade at all three outfield positions if they want to be competitive. Should still be a long off season for them.

And the Astros.
@Ken_Rosenthal: Source: Arencibia deal with #Rangers is for $1.8M with incentives that could push total to $2.1M.

That 2nd rounder goes to The Yanks?
Who?
I think the contract is not unreasonable in its annual pay, but it is unreasonable in its length.
I was advocating 6 years which would have never happend but was also fine with 7. 8 years becomes dicey and 9-10 years becomes "just say no."
Cano, I'll never forget you winning the HR derby for Washington Heights.
I agree completely. Hopefully the Cano non-sign becomes like the Pujols non-sign for the Cardinals; the best non-signing in the history of the franchise.

Marlins sign Garret Jones.
Perhaps LoMo is being put in a trade package to get a 3B?
Yankees quiet today?
This is exactly what I'm afraid of
Yanks are going to sign one of Beltran/Choo and possibly Infante. They need another SP and some bullpen help. Really did not want them to be in on Choo for a large contract.
Choo's value is at leadoff. Ellsbury is already batting leadoff. We need power and Nelson Cruz has it.
I wouldn't be positive that Ellsbury is going to be the daily leadoff player.

Cruz has power and that's it. He can play defense to save his life, he does a horrible job getting on base, and has been not very good the last 3 seasons.
Why wouldn't Gardner be their daily leadoff hitter?
He has power and drives in runs. That's all he needs to do. RF in Yankee stadium is not that serious.
Why wouldn't Gardner be their daily leadoff hitter?
I keep forgetting they have Gardner, like most people.
