He grew up in Nebraska. All of his family/friends are there and travel to the games in KC. He doesn't want to move across country unless he has to. This was the same reasoning behind why he signed his extension years ago. The Royals will give him a good offer because they have the money to do that now.

I think this is completely dependent on the contracts he gets offered. Like if all things are equal, that might be his preference. But if Cespedes and Heyward blow the OF market wide open and somebody throws a crazy contract at him? $150 million buys a lot of private jet rides if being close to family is really important to you.

That was the only bush league move of the night. It accomplished nothing, and Thor still got cracked for three runs. In fact, the Royals had six hits off him in two innings, so it backfired.

What happened tonight is the Mets remembered how to hit. If you want to credit that to a loser move by your pitcher, that's fine. But the Mets are too good a team to be doing that.
