bjs face looks like a marshmallow
Is Jon Jones allowed to leave the state? If so, Dana needs to fly his ass out to the fight and sit him right in the front row for Cormier/Gus
That's what Dana would do, but that's because he has no sense of theatrics. They should use their new fancy projectors to project Jon Jones' face onto the mat to challenge the winner, then Herb Dean takes off his dreadlocks and it's Jon Jones standing behind the champion, wearing his own belt still.
We are in for another 5 rounds of Cormier getting beat at his own game. Haters thought it was boring, I loved seeing Cormier get dismantled.I wonder if Cormier will just forfeit the belt back to Bones in order to avoid another tearful embarrassment.
I can't wait for Jones to come back to strip the fake title from Cormier. I miss everything: destroying all the so-called Brazilian legends, the blatant eye pokes, his instagram getting "hacked" every week, talking about how much he loves his wife/kids then asking a waitress for her phone # immediately after. It's been too long since last seeing the future GOAT fight.
I wouldn't bet on it, but Cormier's capable of beating Jones. The first fight was more competitive than a lot of people let on.We are in for another 5 rounds of Cormier getting beat at his own game. Haters thought it was boring, I loved seeing Cormier get dismantled.

I'd expect DC to look to throw his hands more and set up his takedown attempts better in a rematch. He really underestimated just how good Jones' takedown defense is, and how deceptively strong he is.

So.....Hendricks-Woodley off due to Jonny's weight cut issues
wow
How? Take out all the shit talking and preconceptions about who was supposed to outwrassle the other and look at the fight objectively. It was an interesting first 3 rounds which then turned into a cage clinch grindfest where Jones got the better of DC. That was it. It was almost some Johny Hendricks shit.I dont know how anyone can have faith in DC again after the last fight
It was an embarrassment of the highest order

Jones would most likely get the rematch, but I wouldn't count out DC because he's more than just wrestling. He's a smart fighter with pretty good hands. He can stand with Jones. He might've landed the most significant strikes of the entire fight in the 2nd round. But he was hell bent on the idea that he was gonna wrestlefuck Jones and was mindfucked that he couldn't.
I just read this on Sherdog and thought it was a troll. Holy shit. This is unprofessional times 20.
Wow is my reaction too. I was never a Johny fan but now I think the UFC might be best-served by dropping him, at least hit him with a hefty fine and pay Woodley. Not his fault that Hendricks lets himself get so far out of fight shape.
I wasn't annoyed by the clinching at all. I'm just calling it what it was -- not the domination many make it out to be. Maybe had Jones kept DC down at least once and beat him up a little bit i'd agree.Have you seen a good amount of DC fights? Cage Clinch Grindfest is DC's forte just like it's Cains. Were you annoyed when Fitch got Fitch'd by Maia too? You live by the sword you die by it. DC has about as much chance as anyone else in LHW of beating Jones. A punchers chance.

I think Hendricks is pretty fucked going forward, as his cutting issues are going to keep getting worse (compounded by years of hard cuts during his wrestling career), which leaves him with the option of fighting at 185. Problem is that the top guys at 185, whether Weidman, Souza, Romero, Rockhold, etc. are way bigger than Hendricks and stronger too.Jonny is probably one of Dana's faves so he will probably get out of this with very little damage, but is still a stupid move on his part. He is one fight away from a title shot, get it together.
Not really a best case scenario as Cormier clearly won the 2nd round. It was domination. Jones won 4 out of 5 rounds (and that's the best case scenario for DC) and bet him at his own game handily. Not sure how else you define domination. It wasn't close. It was never close. You are spinning the fight to look a way that it wasn't.

Again, i'm not the one spinning the fight. Domination to me implies that a fighter can pretty much do whatever he wants with the other. Jones worked clinch control, scooped a couple takedowns, and absolutely won on points. Like I said before, had Jones kept him down at least once and got into his patented ground and pound with nasty elbows and shit, i'd agree with you.
GSP kept people down and neutralized them to the point where they were never in the fight. When a fight reaches a point midway through that you feel you don't even need to watch it anymore because the other guy has no chance, that's domination. GSP did it a lot, Floyd Mayweather does it a lot. I never got that feeling in Jones/Cormier. Not until late in the 5th where it was obviously too late for DC to mount a comeback and get the finish he needed.Jones was never in any real danger, handily won 4 out of 5 rounds, did it by beating Daniel Cormier, a highly touted wrestler/grappler, at his own game...not sure what you'd call it. I mean, ultimately it's semantics but it feels like you are just refusing to call it what it was, and what it would be called had it been any other fighters. I mean, would you say GSP never "dominated" anyone because he always won on points?
It was domination.
Thank you.Too strong of a statement. Jones won on points, clearly. But at no time did he have DC in danger or hurt. He did very little actual damage during the fight.
I give him props, I thought he'd lose that fight with Cormier by getting outwrestled. But let's not pretend that he went out there and wrecked shit.
Cormier was crying post-fight because he not only lost but was completely nullified and yall are really in here saying shit like, "well Jones didn't completely rearrange his face or rip his arm in half, so it's not really domination."
He was crying because there was a huge emotional buildup for the fight, he trained his ass off, he went out there, and wasn't able to exercise his gameplan. His wrestling was nullified, yes, but Jones didn't do anything with the takedowns that he got, didn't threaten with any submissions, didn't land much standing or in GnP.
"Dominated" is crazy talk. It was a stinker of a fight and Jones clearly won, but ya'll are talking hyperbole.
