I agree we should score fights based on who has the hottest wife. Frank Mir undisputed world champion.

RIZIN was pretty good. I hope it is able to become a major player like PRIDE was.

Better rules, better judging, and the ring makes for more exciting fights.

I watched that yesterday. Since it's the first real episode, I'm hoping the next bunch concentrate less on the guys activities and more on the fighters in and out of the cage. But Dana going to Dana

Three fighters were fined for Reebok uniform infractions. The only confirmed case (because he admitted on Twitter) was Cerrone for wearing a patch on his shorts. The assumed 2nd case is Nate Diaz for wearing jeans to walk out and having an 'unauthorized water bottle'. No word on the 3rd yet.

Also a bunch of fighters received warnings in the mail for potential violations.

I noticed something on Cerrone, but couldn't make out what it was.

Ya'll see the Rousey body paint photoshoot stuff going around? Not bad at all.

Dana says Holm will fight at least once before re-matching Rousey.......shouldn't it be the other way around? :p

It's the right call. Rousey doesn't need to fight to earn, and Holm could use a title defense to cement her as champion to the mainstream fans. It'll probably be Miesha Tate, and Tate is going to get slaughtered.

Multiple sources confirm UFC will soon announce UFC 197 for March 5 in Vegas with Dos Anjos/McGregor and Holm/Tate.

From Jeremy Botter on Twitter.

I leave Australia on the 30 January.

:/

I'm in Perth, even if we unban the cage, they're never bringing a show here.

will gently cradle you as time slowly ticks away.
What the hell do they do for UFC 200 then?

Oh, he says Conor vs Edgar at 200, maybe

They'll have a four-month gap between this and 200.

I wouldn't mind seeing McGregor vs. Aldo 2 at 200. But hopefully Frankie gets his shot. Or Frankie gets stiffed when McGregor beats Dos Anjos and chooses not to relinquish the 145lb belt while fighting Pettis or Diaz at 200.

Werdum/Cain vs. Overeem should be a lock for 200. As should be DC vs. Jones 2. Maybe even Lawler vs. Woodley and Rockhold vs. Romero...

UFC 200: Johnson vs. Cejudo

^ Didn't Stipe get the nod?

Conor did mention before that he wanted another fight before 200. He should be in good shape after that Aldo fight, it didn't take him much. Lol.
Overall I do wonder how much title fights they are putting on there. They sure have many options. Everyone seems to be healthy, which is quite a feat.

Just 2 title fights unless they start the ppv earlier and charge more money to see it on TV

Have confirmed with multiple sources Bleacher Report regarding UFC 197. McGregor/RDA, Holm/Tate in Las Vegas. No confirmation from UFC.

Please, no injuries

I've never seen RDA fight, how does that one look? Guess it's going to be tougher for McGregor stepping up to lightweight obviously?

He's a BJJ specialist who has improved his standup in recent years, so he's a well rounded threat but especially strong in an area that McGregor hasn't really been tested in yet at this level of the sport. Ground/submission game.

Not sure about his submissions but did Mendes not have an excellent ground game? Most of that fight was spent on the ground really, McGregor took some shots but got through it.

Mendes ground game is primarily wrestling to position dominance and using GnP, which is a different kind of ground game threat than what comes from a BJJ guy. Mendes, for example, only has two submission wins. One guillotine and one rear naked choke. Dos Anjos has eight and they range from armbar to RNC to Kimura.

So it's just a different kind of threat that we really haven't seen McGregor have to deal with yet in the UFC. And we still might not if he keeps it standing and knocks Dos Anjos out. The point is it's not something we've seen him have to deal with and it's not something we've seen him utilize often himself, so it's more likely to be a threat.

Conor is the underdog. I'll take that bet.

While I agree RDA is the favorite, Conor is going to assault him mentaly before the fight in the octagon even begins.

he won't have time get under his skin, the fight is two months away. he went at Aldo for a hell of a long time before that fight.

To add to this, a guy like Mendes has a much greater ability to take a fight to the ground compared to RDA, who isn't that great of a wrestler from the fights that I've seen. It's a bit better of a matchup than one of the 155 wrestlers like Nurmagodemov. If Connor can keep the fight standing, he can win... but RDA is a good striker, too. So that's not a guarantee.

It'll be very interesting to see how Conor reacts to a loss (which you'd have to think will come at some point). His persona is built on win after win, what can he say if he's beaten? I guess if he loses this one he can go back to 145 at least.

He'll just build up conflicts with individual other fighters. He will still be a draw, has an entire country backing him and is exciting. Sure there will be a drop of numbers because he's beaten but he will still be making a ton of money.

Losing is part of the sport too, but atleast in the case of Conor, he seeked the ultimate challenge. That's more than can be said for many other champions.

He claims to be humble in victory and defeat, we'll find out.

I think he's ready for it. Watch his video reacting to Ronda's loss. Says true champions have to be able to take a loss and bounce back stronger.

Seen an article on BJPenn.com that GSP's ex manager talking about a GSP v Conor super fight at LW. Now that would be something.

McGregor is a great counter puncher. His gameplay is gonna be based on countering RDA's aggressive style. I don't think it will go to the ground unless it goes to the later rounds and the fighter who's coming up short takes it there.

Unless he's lost a good deal of skill, GSP's wrestling is way too strong for McGregor.

lol GSP is too big and his wrestling would kill Conor.

So CroCop got suspended because he admitted to using HGH (for his shoulder) not because he didn't pass his tests. He passed the out of competition testing.

McGregor rumored to have held up the 197 announcement because he is asking for more money. Should be very interesting to see how this plays out. With Rhonda losing, McGregor pretty much has the UFC by the balls as their only active mega-star. UFC though can't have its fighters calling shots though, regardless of how big they are.

I saw two back to back links on Reddit. One is a story from Globo reporting McGregor is holding out and one from Bleacher Report reporting RDA is holding out.
