Monitoring the situation in Iran

I did. I asked why Israel doesn't fight their own battles and why does Americans have to die while they refuse to put boots on the ground in Iran. Then I asked about AIPAC and shared a video which is the truth and that really broke some people. Even had someone wanting the FBI to come after me. 🤷
i mean, you've been given multiple chances now to engage but if you are just the silly boy you think you are then maybe the ban is just better for your mental health.

My mental health is perfectly fine. I actually deal with mentally ill people daily. But thanks for making a mockery of them.

this is basically a twitter bot we dealing with.

Investigate away. But if it's turning out, they're going to dilute the gas and make it less efficient, it totally makes sense.

Also, something to take into account is the fact that it takes fuel to transport groceries among various other types of products. If this doesn't resolve shortly, we're looking at the cost of living skyrocketing as well the cost of doing business. Traveling is going to become incredibly expensive.
Again, USPS did not increase the prices in 2022 where the oil prices were even higher.

Thanks to this mess, I moved up my switch to an EV by about 2 years. Was hoping to be on the other side of my current vehicle finance before I pulled the trigger on the switch, but things only look to getting worse. Hard to justify a gas vehicle anymore. Particularly when you WFH and have the infrastructure around you to support it. Traded in my 21 Outback and we kept my wife's Accent. Def will always keep 1 gas vehicle in the house.

Hurts a little.. Outback is an amazing vehicle, but this EV is fun as hell :)

Would strongly suggest anyone still owning full gas to look into EVs/Hybrids. Some great deals out there, and well gas only going to get more expensive over the coming months.

PSA: Duke energy has a program that pays up to 890 for upgrades/installation of a charger in your home.+90 dollar bill credits if you charge during off hours.
Not a judgment, just sharing my own personal experience of owning three EVs and leasing 3 others. When I "EVangelize"" to folks about them I always recommend they lease an EV before taking the full on plunge.

This gives you the ability to see if an EV fits into your lifestyle AND removes gigantic depreciation cliff that evs have.

I will not own another ICE car (I have a truck that will last for several decades I hope as a back up) but plenty of folks struggle with the transition.

I hope ya love it and it works out for you because playing .16 "a gallon" for my EV is far better than the 3.85 I'm seeing for gas in my area.

One meaningful thing Trump could do to alleviate price pressure is to pause his universal 15% tariff rate.
WTF is wrong with you.

Do not bring in common sense to this thread. Just watch the idiots talk and bring out the popcorn.

Really this is the best thread of all time here probably.

Something already hinted at by Marco Rubio, whose the only saving grace in the Trump Administration. But surely he can't be serious, I was told time and again how this campaign is going splendidly and will end the terrorist regime in Iran. And surely "Washington would press allies in Europe and the Gulf to take the lead on reopening the strait" is a joke, too, since we all know those Eurocucks won't lift their weak fingers due to TDS.

Imagine if the most lasting legacy of this war is the reopening of the Strait as an Iranian toll booth.

$2 million per passage x 120 passages a day = one Gabe Newell superyacht every 48 hours

this is the absolute last thing anyone can allow to happen.

Unfortunately that's exactly what the WSJ article and Rubio's interview earlier today with Al Jazeera international seem to be implying. Unless this is a massive red herring on their part, it might just end up being that the US leaves after the 'objective' is done and the gulf block and all the countries that use the Strait the most are left paying Iran for continued safe passages of their ships like how India, Japan, Pakistan etc have started doing.

It's such a horrific outcome…

And on that note, I'm out. It's always "you're anti-Semitic" cop out when there's no other rebuttal.

It's called pattern recognition. I'm sorry that I notice things. 🤷
While I recognize your banned, I'm sure you are still lurking. Pattern recognition on its own is tricky thing to rely on, if you're looking for truth. Human's have a hard time with confirmation bias, and what we often attribute to "pattern recognition" is often us counting the hits, and ignoring the misses.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will hold a news conference on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. Eastern

On this note, regular has exceeded $4 on my routine gas station today, today's price is $4.05.

Even the nearest Costco is $3.99.
I live in the hellscape that is the SF Bay Area and it was $6.50 the other day and per Bill Maher it's $8 in parts of LA. Not to get political but our legislators should really consider freezing the ridiculous gas taxes.

One question people are asking is that Trump/US Gov claim to have asked for help but NATO has stated that no Articles have been triggered. Article 5 is what needs to be asked, and only one country has asked for that in the past, the USA for Iraq.

Article 5 has been invoked only once after 9/11. The wording seems to state that it can be invoked if a NATO nation gets attacked.

I don't know if it applies in this case, since the US was not attacked. Maybe this is why the US isn't invoking article 5 so far.

Turkey can invoke it. They've shot down several ballistic missiles fired from Iran.

NATO is about defense and I think Europe and NA are territories that need to be attacked for article 5 to work - not military bases in foreign countries or colonies.

Any military alliance needs to be done on UN level or just between countries (outside of NATO).

Yeah, it could work like that.

Propably not insulting everyone left and right, night and day and not informing allies might lead to the conclusion How Could Trump and not America or the US people do this. Plus i think most Europeans including me think this is a pretty awesome distraction from the Epstein files. And i would greatly welcome regime change in Iran for its freedom seeking people but you are without allies more or less. I don't see you your country as trust worthy partner anymore at least until the next administration and I also know all the nice things the Trump Admin thinks about us. And its not like Trump and Vance don't chritizse valid issues in Europe but we have an idiom in Germany der Ton macht die Musik. Which is like 'It's not what you say, it's how you say it"
And ohh boy how do the say it and expect any help from anyone is delusional.
I would consider it personally in out interest to open the street but Trump created that mess and its understandable that helping you is not popular in any European country. So I guess Europe will only help if things get economically much worse because we solve problems when its too late or not all 😅

Trump does not ask for help, he demands. In his ideal scenario the US Navy will stay way back at sea while the Europeans send their frigates (which the US does not have) and minesweepers (the USN moved theirs to Singapore from the Gulf) into the Strait.
If it works it's a great US victory. If it doesn't they 'did not fight hard enough' like in Afghanistan.

Gonna be an interesting few days. I'm not sure how much gas Iran has left in the tank other than slinging shit for total chaos. Sooner or later they'll run out of manpower and command and control.

No reason for White House to suggest war may end with strait shut other than end of month market manipulation. No way with all the personnel en route

Well .. we're reaching their own stated "4 to 6" week timeline for the operation, but then again statements have changed so much over the days that anything is possible.

The conference tomorrow can only be one of three things. 1. a standard 'we're doing well' recap, 2. steps to wind down the operation 3. putting boots on the ground.

I'm so out of touch with all this world politics stuff.

Do you have timelines for this stuff, like when Iran declared death to all of the west etc?
