They added (facultative) tutorial quests for each weapon of the game. It won't tell you the best combos, but at least it will help new players to understand some weapons better, though some tutorials barely scratch some subtilities. And the same old quests of the boring first hour are still there (harvest x mushrooms, bring back x eggs, kill x jaggis). Though, you really need to do about 4 or 5 of these quests before unlocking the main dish (ie. hunting big monsters, starting with our little friend, the Great Jaggi), so I guess it's fine. The intro is also interesting, since you begin directly with a tutorial hunt against the Daren Mohran.
Players who played the 3rd generation exclusively (MH3, MH3rd, MH3U) will also be quite happy, since the game will pit you exclusively against completly new monsters at the beginning (aside from the Great Jaggi, but he's just there as a punching ball).
