Ugh,what do I have to do around here to get a ancient SnS,DS and LBG? I got a ancient GS,Hammer and HH but I don't want those!! I'm getting tired of plundering the HR volcano.
Wait for special event quest (if there is any). But still, it is dependent on luck. I never get an ancient SnS for 2000hrs of MH3 gameplay (both JP and US) while my friend got 6 - 7 :/

Cleared village quest Star 5 with my mining suit, cleared online 1 - 3 star with it too. This game is easy. Those who played MH3 will have no problem with this game at all. I pray that high rank quest will pose some challenge.

Same here with Jinouga. - just farmed him for 5-6 times and complete armour.

Rathian plate is still a no go - I'm ignoring that low-rank armor completely. :p

One question... the monster intrusion events, how does it get triggered? We're getting the Rathalos + DevilJho pretty much... with or without taking out Aoshira.

I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce!
Intrusion quests are too much fun. :lol Had to fight the Agnaktor subspecies with Great Baggi running around... then after we beat up both, Deviljho showed up.:lol

Got to HR4 last night. I'm still using a beginner armor set I bought from the store lady! (8def*5pieces=40def)

And no, I'm not a very good player, the monsters just don't deal a lot of damage so far! Hoping it's a different story in High-rank!

Heh. Either you're good or you're good at evading attacks.

Having problems with beating Rathalos consistently at HR5, I'm glad that this version is more 'dynamic' than the 'sit in his shadow and charge on the head when he lands' shit - in the previous games.

This game is easy (finished all village chief quest + guild 3 stars using an armor DEF of 17), MH3 is way more hardcore. The evading window for the evade move in MH3 is way tighter than MHP3.

My hunting buddy commented that they ported everything over except the difficulty lol. (and underwater)

Yeah, it's been pretty easy so far. Jhen Mohran was a joke. Nothing like the first few times fighting him in Tri! Still such an awesome fight tho. Love that music too. :)

Nooo, don't tell me the game went the easy direction again? D:

MHF1 was awesome, MHF2 was way too easy, MHFU was a bit less easy, Tri was awesome and now... we're going back to easy-mode? Ugh. The difficulty is so much more important to me than content.

The village quests are a joke, the power band between HR 1-3 and H4-6 has a wide gap - but some monsters in P3 are too easy. More likely to see a 3G/expansion for it - can't deny Capcom won't milk this property.

Btw, in adhoc Jhen... we never get to see him on land? As Intended for coop or we just piled shitloads of ballistae at it?

So I was like beating the shit out of Dosfango and capture it when the warning sign appears and I have to face Jinouga. Sad to say when my weapon keep on bouncing off and it hits hard to my health considering I'm using my default samurai armor. I quit the 'bonus' quest :(

i just did that quest, except no monster showed up after the warning, so i quit and it didn't count me as having completed the original quest! any idea?

i am seriously loving this game, by the way, but i've only really played it multiplayer so far so i'm a little lost by myself.

You have to wait till the 'warning sign' appears, then it'll reset the clock - when you quit the quest at that time, the first quest counts.

Is there a way to bring your felynes into online quests in this game? Me and two fellow MH addicts got the game and went online with our felynes, but none of us had them during quests. Is there a certain way we have to do it?

It only works if there's 2 players. Once you introduce a third, no felynes tag along.

Ahh thanks. I guess they're all saying that if we can't beat the game with three people and no cats, then we are hopeless and should sell it. :(

ugh, these marathon quests are annoying especially the Purple Ludroth/T.Gigginox/Agnaktor/Ice Barroth. I can handle the P.Ludroth & T.Giggi combo with no problem but it's Agnaktor and Ice Barroth combo that is the worst nightmare.

Finally defeated Jinougi event quest in single player using the bow. Didn't expect the 'credits' to roll so soon, but I guess that always happens in MH games. The real game begins now!

The credits animation and music is really cool!

More importantly, did you find the farm yet?

So what is considered more rare? Plates or jewels? I got 2 jewels from Jhen at the village elder quest. I think I already know the answer but I just want to confirm. The Jhen quest is really fun and epic btw, a stark contrast to the earlier attempts in the series with Lao-Shan. (ugh)

Yeah I'm not sure why they put an end CG sequence right in the middle of all the elder quests!

Jewels....Still it's dependent on individual luck. However, things are easier now thanks to the Lucky Drink where you activate the Lucky Felyne skill.

Hahahaha, yes, yes I did find the farm!

I do have some noob questions though, since this is the first MH where I use the bow:

- Do I do more damage if 4 arrow hit the target, instead of just 1? (My current bow shoots 4 arrows)
- What is the perfect timing to shoot your bow for maximum damage?
- Does range increase with certain bows?

- Do I do more damage if 4 arrow hit the target, instead of just 1? (My current bow shoots 4 arrows)
Yes, each individual arrow actually has varying strengths. Top rapid arrow and middle spread arrow are the strongest ones.

- What is the perfect timing to shoot your bow for maximum damage?
Lv3 is the best charge for the quickest kill times.
Lv4 is better if you know the fight is gonna last long, in order to preserve your coatings. It's also there in case you're too busy dodging an enemy attack to fire your Lv3 charge.

- Does range increase with certain bows?
No. The only things that affect the effectiveness across range is the arrow type itself. Spread is the worst at long range. Rapid works best at medium range, then the power quickly drops. Pierce is very close to Rapid at medium range, but its power doesn't quickly deteriorate the longer it travels.

Rapid and Pierce work best at medium range, while Spread works at close-medium. Power sucks at close range for any type, so don't go fire your arrows point-blank.

sorry guys, you're really going to have to explain this to me like i'm five years old, because i've tried this quest three times now and it never shows up as cleared. is there some way to quit the quest other than via the start menu, which is what i'm doing soon as i get past the warning screen? thanks...

You could just use my strategy, DIE!

won't i just wake up in bed?

it's worth mentioning that jinouga never comes, either!

Well I usually let myself die if my weapon bounces off a newcomer, and it always gave me Quest Complete.

@345Triangle
When the warning sign appears, the monster is there (as you'll hear his/her roar) - you just have to scout around a bit.

Keep pounding and bouncing your weapon on Jinouga till you're knocked out, wake up, find him and repeat. Maybe you get lucky cutting and carving the tail at the least.

Hm, this game has some difficulty balance issues. In town quests I got really stuck at Jinouga, yet after that I had no real problems... not that it was easy however, it's just that being careful and prepared can bring you through most fights.

I managed to cut off Doboru's tail using a bow and arrow, default arrows.. perhaps this is only possible because it 'chips' off, instead of being severed in two as with other monsters?

Fucking awesome tho, now I can fight Tigrex and Diablos!!

There's tail breaking and tail cutting, much like how you can break and cut Agnaktor's tail in Tri.

Neat!

PS. What screenshot module do you recommend using? I can't find one that works for MHP3rd.

CWCheat worked fine for me with the demo. I assume it'll work the same for the full game, which I do not have.

Thanks!

Finally got my full set of Silver Sol armor, and upgraded it up to max! It looks shiny and great :D

I also got the special long sword from one of the low rank event quests. I did that a bunch of times because it only takes about 15 minutes if your gear is high level and maxed out. The sword once upgraded is pretty decent too, and makes a nice sound when it's used, heh.

The HR4-5 urgent took me 42 minutes! (Naruga, high rank)

^^that long sword looks pimp. What's the name of the quest?

Naruga is so beautiful.

I'm currently fighting the last urgent of the town missions... failed my first time around because I ran out of time, but now that I know what to expect it should be pretty easy.

I love the moment where it leaps over the ship.. beautiful.

That Long sword is from one of the event quest in MH3 japan version. Inuyasha Tessaiga.
