Yup,the goldenfish is still there and the fastest way to get more yukumo points. Use golden bait and the goldenfishes will appear.

Bleh, workin' on a Zinogre set but one piece only comes from the tail, and I'm a hammer user. I need some help from tail-cutters - anyone experienced at taking off his tail? Oichi?

Current setup, Narga U series (taken from the camo Narga) with upgraded Hidden Blade. I was working with the Jinogre lower level set forever so I figured I needed the defense upgrade before I take on the elder wyverns :/

john yeah I've taken off the tail a bunch of times in the lower level quests, but I've only fought him once in the upper level quests, so I don't know how much harder it'll be to do that.

Have male armors improved, design wise? Females most of the time have more appealing armor.

Are you still bitter that there's no maid-outfit-armor for the male characters?

Delivering the super-hot-egg (sorry, forget what its called) from the volcanic level seems quickest for me. 3000pts per rock, they usually let you get 2 or 3 per quest. Of course, you usually need a +20 vitality boost and the carry skill in this version of monster hunter to deliver it before your health runs out, but its easy enough to do, for 6000-9000 points in a matter or 15 minutes or so.

Just hit HR6 last night! Anyway I can not get one single ancient fish (古代魚) My farm is fully upgraded, and supposedly you can get them from the fishing bucket, with the cats. I know they are rare5 but after 20 or so tries I figured to get at least one...anyone know of another spot or way to get them?

Ive been mostly grouping up with random Japanese on the Mohun side of adhoc party, but would like to team up with some of you guys, let me know...even low HR I'll help you out.

Oh yeah, I'm only talking about lower level version - should be a piece of cake for you!

Did you upgrade your Zinogre set all the way before upgrading to Nicaragua?

I think I upgraded it all the way to level 5 (regular armor sphere) but as soon as I hit the high level quests I saw all that cool new armor and started grinding for the naruga u gear:lol

7500 in 5 mins vs 6000 - 9000 in 15mins...hmmmm.

Huh, guess I'll need to try that method instead, didn't think you'd get that much from it ^^;. Well, once I need more points again.

Why can't they fix some of the invisible walls on certain maps and in the farm?

There's no reason for it, just let us walk right next to the edge of the map.

And how do I send my cats out on treasure collection?

Upgrade your farm. I think the option is available after you take down Peco.

The armor designs in this game look incredible.
Way too lazy. Except for MH3 armors plus a few new ones, majority of the swordsman/gunner armors share the same design.

Peco is now slightly harder with the consistent summoning of monsters. Barroth on the other hand seems slower and easier. He was a pain in the ass in MH3.

Been practising with a Naruga Switch Axe with the Aoshira/Bullfango/Naruga extended quest... Thinking the SA is nice thing to work on, keeping things fresh. No problem with the two big monsters, the Bulldrome is knocking the bejeezus left and right!

Is there a vid on a good solo Switch Axe usage?

got underway with this today. i'm determined to make it the first MH that i seriously seriously get into - it helps that it's the first PSP version i've picked up close to release with friends playing at the same time.

i'm not qualified to say much more than "holy cats is this game ever gorgeous" right now, though.

Anyone had luck getting Ancient Fish (古代魚)? I have tried the bucket, basket and sent my cats out on the cart at least 50 times and still have not got even 1. I have searched the guides both Japanese and English, and nothing works. I have a fully upgraded farm, so I know thats the not the problem. Any tips would be most appreciated ^^

I think I have 2 so far and haven't been sending my cats out at all. You're probably just unlucky.

Is talk of a translation patch frowned upon? There's one out, obviously only CFW users can take advantage..here's the current list of what's translated:

Translated:

Most of the armor skills
Some menus
Most of the elderly quest
All Items
Some Felyne Companion related stuff
Some weapons

Sounds good, guess it's time to finally rip the UMD.

I got my hands on an imported copy, and messed around in the first area. The autumn/Eastern theme seems really nice so far.

I will probably dabble with it a bit more before waiting on the English version to really dive into it.

Anybody with xlink can help me? It seems I don't see players connected in the arena although I have network status reachable. Using planex.

Someone else I know has been having troubles using the Planex adapter too and has not been able to get it working. What's your PSP's adhoc channel set to? You might get it working if everybody sets it to a specific channel instead of Automatic.

Finally!! After spending the whole morning fixing this,I finally got my xlink working and connecting to players. Come on Spindoc!! I don't care whether your connection sucks due to your place but lets play online for old times!!!

Did you do anything particular to make it work so I can pass it on to my buddy?
I tinker around with trial and error. Just make sure xlink is able to detect the psp,psp xlink mode is 1,firewall isn't blocking xlink.

Yayayya you've got the same hairline crack as me!

Yes, poor old PSP. I have dozens of dead pixels around the screen corners, my analog stick has the tendency to go haywire and the faceplate is cracking away. Clearly the aftermath of hundreds of hours of MH!

Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you! :lol

What timezone are you in? (I'm GMT+2)

I'm still using the old dongle..the Datel WifiMax one, are there still compatibility issues with Win7 users?

I just did the 3 Rathian village quest - that was a trip. I thought they were gonna drop great potions like the other multi-monster quests, but nope. Barely pulled it off.

To be fair he used the Might Pill/Seed glitch. I'm not sure if it's in P3.
What glitch? I thought he is just prolonging might pill effect by eating might seed? That's what I did everytime in MH3 too.

Is that an epic quest? In older MH games, epic quests only let you fight a big monster one by one with all the minor ones removed, and if you carve them you get mega pots. Multi-monster non-epics let you fight multiple big monsters at the same time (like dual Tiggy), the minor enemies are still there and you don't get mega pots from carving them.

Yeah I'm not sure what it's called in English but they're labeled differently - I just didn't notice. The smaller monsters leave you rations and the big ones leave great potions. In Japanese it's 大連続狩猟. (Which in really basic terms means like, one monster after another in succession.)

In 2nd G/Unite there were quests where you would fight a series of the same boss one at a time where the minimum you had to kill was 2 and you could keep killing them, at least up until the 10th one (no more show up after that).

The 3 ian quest is pretty much the same type of thing except that in 3rd you kill 3 and then the quest is over. Epic quests are different. I think the point of them is that the bosses are different.

Yeah, that quest is a trip... I thought too it was an extended quest.

Question about the trinkets/pendants or whatever they're called in Tri. Are they completely random?

Meaning could I get a Negate Poison skill with 6 and another pendant with 10?
