Hm... I wish I could use Xlink Kai, but I'm using Windows 7 now in Bootcamp and I was told that wasn't compatible?

Is anyone running Parallels to use their Wifi-Max? Maybe that'll work..

I've hit a wall in Tri in that, I don't know if I wanna keep playing it. So much left to do in MHFU that will honestly, probably last me until Portable 3rd comes out. Doesn't help that P3 is pretty much a portable extension of Tri anyway...

So yeah, I got as far as Diablos in Tri and feel like I'm done =/

Haha. Maybe someday.

I got tired of Tri after beating Alatreon. I think I stopped at HR 52 or 53, 150 hours or so. If high-grade armor looked different, and/or if there were more subspecies and advanced quests, I definitely would've continued. Totally loved the game, just ran out of interesting stuff to do, really.

I've set up a lobby on JPN Adhoc party for those who want to jump in, I'll probably be playing for the next hour or two, then a break to do something else, then I'll set up a room in the same location. It's World Q, Lobby 48, gathering hall 24.

Phew. Guess I'm done with Tri then.

And like John Tv, I wish there were more sub-species and quests with monster variation to Tri too. I guess thats why I think I like Freedom Unite better, the sheer amount of monster variations rules my world.

Really expensive shipping FTW!
The graphics are really neat and I have no problem navigating even though it's Japanese.
I'm using a hammer now but anyone know if they got nerfed in MHP3rd?

Yeah, somewhat. The charge mechanics are a little different. Only 2 charges, one which is a strange uppercut, the other is the superpound. The uppercut has less reach and its a little trickier to land. Plus, you lose the 1-2 combo.

I believe the swing of the triple pound move is damage nerfed.(It use to deliver 100% of the weapon damage). Not the case any more.

On the upside, hammer is the most effective for knocking out stamina now (stamina is a new mechanic to mh3 and 3rdp). Wish I had the damage numbers to show the damage difference in the hammer

Oh ok, didn't knew about the stamina thing but it sounds interesting. I think I'll just keep using the hammer till some chart gets released with all the numbers.

I forgot if it's like this in Tri, but there's still three charges. The one you didn't mention is the quick opposite swing that can be seen in the trailers.

There are reports saying that the triple pound golf swing isn't nerfed anymore like in Tri was.

The hurricane spin can also deal KO damage.

It's a guide book for beginners. I browsed through it, covered maybe about 50% of the game only. Not that fantastic. Luckily I am able to claim the money back haha:lol

Edit: The PSP is a Singapore version btw.

Still early on in the game, but I finally completed all the 1-star single player quests.

I have a 45 minute commute into Tokyo every weekday, and this game makes that go by unbelievably quickly.

My passive interest in MH is growing.

You know you don't have to complete all the quest. Just do the key quests that unlock the next star quest.

Ehhh, money only really matters early on. By the time you're hunting elite monsters you make so much cash it's never really an issue.

That sucks :(

Money has always been an issue, every upgrade of the end-game items was forbiddingly expensive.(hence the money-runs)

I dunno, I always had a bunch of old mats I didn't need and they would always cover the price of equipment.

I see. I would still rather do them just to get a feel for the game. I'm still getting used to the combat.

Been spending a lot of time doing odds and ends; village quests, farm stuff, and so on. Only got a full Jaggi set at the moment plus a mildly-upgraded hammer (I think my ATK is around 105 or so). Gonna try and tackle the Famitsu quest tonight if the timing works out and then get crackin' on newer/better gear. :)

My current character... 20 hours in so far, HR3 in single but only HR1 online. :( Every lobby I try to get into on adhoc is always full:lol

Looks like it's really mixed. Jaggi helm and gauntlets, Aos armor, leather belt...? Not sure if you're aiming for any particular skill since at low rank, you almost never mix armors that much.

I like this shot. It captures the details well, yet the jaggies are softened nicely with the dot-matrix effect. Kinda like the output you get from playing PS2 on your CRT TV.

Everything is from Aoashira except for the helm actually... I ran out of stuff to get that when I took the pic.:lol edit: I got the complete set about an hour after I took the pic though, so I'll post that when I can.

Shit,Jinouga can't be fucked around,even my barroth armor which is higher resistence to electricity is taking big damage not to mention running out of stamina chasing the motherfucker.

Hipchecks are fixed, overall hit detection is alot better than the old ones. Too bad the new MHP3rd monsters are stolen straight from some anime with all those weird attacks they have.

Right now, I'm still on elder quest where I clear the Jinouga urgent so I can't give full opinions but so far...

Aoashira,Urukususu,Great Furogi,Great Jaggi,Rangurotora,Royal Ludroth,Barroth,Qurupeco= Piece of cake.

Giginox,Rathian,Hapurubokka, Jinouga = gives me the run for my money IMO.
