"Recommended" specs for 1080p30 lmao

Where are ultra or at the very least high preset native 4k60 without frame gen? Pretty deceptive and scummy to brand these as recommended instead of what they truly are: the minimum

how badly optimised is this game to look the way it does and not being able to run at 1080p 60fps on a fucking 2070 Super?

RE engine quickly went from the best thing ever during the later parts of last gen, running beautiful games at high framerates, to an absolute shitshow not being able to hit a consistent 30fps.

it really seems like RE Engine was entirely designed around linear corridors, and the moment you make larger maps it shits the bed

I'm sure that's why they've been working on the next gen iteration of their engine for at least a year.

Frame generation tech really won me over. However, I personally think it gets dodgy going below 50 FPS (before framegen).

The only game I was forced to compromise was Cities Skylines 2. Its a city builder, so doing 30 FPS doubled to 60 wasn't a dealbreaker.

Hopefully Capcom's got good implementations of framegen for both NVidia and AMD cards.

Why do people hype up RE engine again? MH wilds and SF6 look like shit. Dragon Dogma 2 runs like shit. Dead Rising is whatever.

It’s really just the RE games that look good, and even some of them are questionable.

I am currently playing through MH World. That game looks like crap and is an unoptimised PoS. On my PS4 slim, it runs at '30 fps', but it feels far worse than that. For comparison games like HZD and HFW look great and at 30 fps feel like 30 fps (not arguing about which is the better game, MHW is IMO better). So I switched over to the Steam Deck, turned down a bunch of settings to get it to run at 60 and it controls manageably well (as well as HZD on PS4 at 30 fps at best). MH Rise on the other hand runs beautifully at 60 fps on the deck and the controls don't feel sluggish.
MH World team are simply not good at graphics optimization. I will be sitting out MH wilds, until I build a competent PC/ buy a PS5 Pro/Steam Deck 2.
