Just needs some luck, like all the other contenders in this stupid-ass format.
You said it. I was complaining a couple days ago in the automotive thread that a driver could run good all year, make the chase, but then have a little bad luck in the first couple races and get knocked out, and then win the rest of the races with no shot at the title. It 's ridiculous.
You're welcome! Not a bad pick. I was hoping Larson could make it but it was not to be.
Have you been to any Cup races? I have been to Texas twice and want to do Bristol and maybe Dega next year. My company has a base in Birmingham so I can probably crash with someone but I'm not so sure that I would enjoy super speedway racing in person.
My first time at Texas I gained massive respect for the talent and skill required watching them slide around turn 4. It is a hell of a good show. Made me a much bigger fan but I have watched since Terry Labonte was racing the cornflakes car, I'm 31 now.
When I was younger I was a huge NASCAR/Jeff Gordon fan. I collected the die cast cars, wore Gordon shirts to school, the whole 9 yards. Anyway my dad can do just about anything car-related and he's always buying/building/selling cars and trucks. He's a Gordon fan too, so one of the trucks he built he painted like Gordon's race car.
We took it to four races, two in Kansas, (the first two, 01-02 I believe) and two in Texas! (Same years) Gordon won both of the Kansas races we went to which was really awesome, and as a 12 or 13 year old it was just the coolest thing ever, like a dream come true.
We're not as big into it as we used to be, but we still watch it every week. Sold the truck
Anyway that's my story
when were you at Texas? I think Bristol would be a really fun one to go to but Talladega might be too stressful for me lol.
