What I don't get is, they're immigrating to a Christian country, if their intolerance towards Christians is this bad, why go there?

This seems too silly unless they were straight up OMEGA religious

ISIS even tolerates Christians (they just tax the fuck out of them into oblivion and threaten their families ofc)

Agreed, details are very scarce but maybe someone else can find more, I'm on mobile.

Though religiously motivated killings of non-Muslims is something that some extremist African factions do, afaik.

Edit: non Muslims. Duh.

That's tragically hilarious. Instead of cooperating as a group of socially disenfranchised individuals, they continued to play the social games of "worthy" human beings by killing those who had particular religious views.

The irony of it all is just astounding.

I can't comprehend the mindset. You are all refugees, trying to ESCAPE ethnic conflict and find a new beginning perhaps. And then you just start killing other families, because they do not share your beliefs.

That's not true at all. ISIS kill Christians they don't like the same as they kill Sunnis they don't like. They leave some alone for political expediency. There was a whole US rescue operation of some Christian minority in Iraq because ISIS was slaughtering them.

When did ISIS start tolerating Christians? Last time I checked they have been mass murdering them, kidnaping and raping the women then selling them off as wives to other ISIS fighters etc.

There is little tolerance for Christians anywhere in the Middle East. Most of the time it takes a Dictator to guarantee Christians have any chance at a normal life. Dictator gets overthrown and suddenly Christians find how welcome they are in their "homeland"

Wrong. They weren't Christian at all - the Yazidis historically suffered at the hands of both the Christians and the Muslims in the area IIRC. But their beliefs are pretty far from Christianity in many ways.

These boat trips from north Africa to Europe are pretty brutal. There are deaths and terrible conditions even without this sort of thing. That said, to conservative Muslims the Christians are often seen as second class citizens. Deciding who to save in a crisis it would be men, women, then lastly non Muslims. This is just how they are told to think.

Oh man for some reason I was picturing a much larger cargo ship.

Disgusting. Religion totally not to blame though, these guys just wanted to throw someone overboard.

they come with ships, when they reach italian waters the trafficants drops them on those inflatable boast because they want the ship back.

Is it really? That looks so unsophisticated, like they just got a boat and said "we're fleeing thataway!"

Do they just wind up on the shores of Italy and say "hey guys, can we join the party"?

The whole situation is fucked, and I highly recommend this Vice documentary on the logistics of the smugling.

As another poster said, there are other boats involved, and that is the last step. I can imagine this step is where this shit went down, in such close quarters.

The only time I've ever seen somebody banned as fast is when that "ban me" thread came up recently that was full of porn gifs and mods took it down within like 10 seconds lol

I doubt that a group of refugees are considering the global implications of their actions whilst fighting on a boat. I don't think many people go about life with that mindset outside of world leaders and public figures.
